I never write reviews, but NorthStar Solar truly earned it. After soliciting multiple bids, Patrick stood out right away - he took the time to do a Zoom call to understand my property and my goals instead of just emailing a quote. Once I moved forward, Jason was assigned as my project manager and kept me informed every step of the way. The install crew was on-time, super efficient, and meticulous - clearly professionals who also understand roofing. They were careful about panel/battery placement and stud alignment, and at the end they even painted all the new conduits to match our house colors. Danielle in the office was also fantastic - super communicative and helpful throughout the process. From start to finish, everything was handled with precision and care. NorthStar Solar exceeded my expectations in every way!
I had a solar system installed by Northstar Solar this past winter, and I am thoroughly impressed with their service. I obtained several bids from different companies, Northstar Solar's bid stood out as very competitive and comprehensive. They installed REC solar panels and Tesla Powerwall 3 batteries at my home. While the sales quote was brief, the system design, and permit filing were all done meticulously. The entire installation process was seamless. From the initial consultation with Patrick in sales, a virtual meeting with the Company Owner Ryan, to the clear communications from Office Manager Dani, everything was handled professionally and with attention to detail.I am particularly impressed by the installation crew, Jason, Rodrigo, Jose, Juan, and Kyle. They were true professionals. They were polite, worked efficiently, and left the worksite spotless. The solar panels were installed nicely on our concrete tile roof; the batteries and cable conduits were mounted with near perfection. I am very happy with how the system turned out. I would have liked to have the string mapping available to me prior to or immediately after the installation. Nonetheless, I eventually received a copy of the string map.Northstar Solar not only specializes in Solar systems, they are also roofing experts. Just prior to the installation, they found a couple of cracked tiles on the roof, and they repaired or replaced them with no additional charge. I was thankful to learn that. After the installation, we have had several Inspections and Re-inspections by the City inspectors. The re-inspections were not due to Northstar Solar’s work, they were mostly due to the Inspectors’ incomplete inspection each time, as well as trying to enforce ordinance that did not apply. While I was glad that Northstar Solar sent a representative to meet with the Inspector each time, I wish they had given me more advanced notice so that I didn’t have to make sudden changes in the last minute to my schedule. The system have been working well, and it continues to supply more electricity to our home each day going from the winter months to spring.I highly recommend Northstar Solar for anyone considering installing a solar system. Their competitive pricing, professional service, and excellent installation make them a top choice.
I recently had NorthStar Solar remove 28 solar panels for a roofing job, and then reinstall them once the roof was completed. They were professional and competent from start to finish.Too many companies over-commit and under-deliver. That was never the case with anyone from NorthStar Solar. Every touch point with their business was professional, and they always followed through on their commitments.I was very concerned about them reinstalling my solar panels once my roof job was completed, due to the summer's high temps and the potential damage that could be done to the new shingles. Dan, the owner, made sure that the crew started early in the morning and quit for the day before the temps got to the point where the roof could sustain damage. The panels were installed flawlessly and on-time.It is always a pleasure doing business with people who care and are sincere about the quality of their work and the commitments they make to customers.Northstar Solar gets an A+++++ !!!!
Overall great experience with Northstar Solar from start to finish. They provide a quality product and install. The entire team is very responsive and knowledgeable. I decided to go with them because of a friend that used the same company. He had nothing, but good things to say and I can see why.
We used NorthStar solar to install 12KW solar system with a 20KW battery to backup our entire home in February of 2021.The process was super easy, and Ryan walked us through the quote over VC to make sure that we understood all the options and tradeoffs. We set up an installation time frame, and a few weeks before the window, the dates were finalized. The installation took 3 days and we only lost the power for a few of hours when the switchover happened. Since then we have not been affected by any of the outages in our area planned or unplanned. They handled all the bureaucratic details including the permitting and all interactions with PG&E.The only issue we encountered was the Enphase controller panel was defective. This was discovered at installation time when testing running the house on batteries and there was a buzzing sound coming from the panel. NorthStar got on the the phone with Enphase and got a new panel shipped once it was diagnosed to be defective. I lied above, there was another brief power outage when the panel was replaced. Finally, their quote came in 10% lower than other local solar companies. As you can see, we have nothing but positive things to say.
