Recent reviews are mixed. Positive comments note competitive pricing, helpful sales consultations, and projects completed with solid workmanship when timelines are clear. Critical reviews cite communication gaps, paperwork errors, and slow follow-through on issues, including concerns about project management and post-install support. Customers who reported good experiences often highlight responsiveness from specific staff, while negative reviews focus on delays and resolution challenges.
I hired Ameco to replace my roof with solar panels approximately three years ago, and I am now dealing with a significant leak that has caused interior mold damage. After I reported the issue, Field Supervisor Asaaf sent a subcontractor to inspect the roof, and the subcontractor confirmed that the leak originated from the original roofing work performed by Ameco. Despite this, Ameco has denied responsibility and refuses to correct the problem. I have made multiple attempts to resolve the matter, but the company continues to dismiss accountability, leaving me with costly water and mold repairs. Based on this experience, I would urge others to exercise caution when considering Ameco for roofing services.
Ameco solar provided an incredible sales consultation, and was able to give me the most affordable quote for the solar system I've purchased. They are the only solar installer I know with the Price Match Guarantee, and they've honored it even after I've signed the contract. My project has been fully completed last year, on time and with high quality workmanship. Support team is excellent and very helpful.
I am writing this review for the awesome people that I have experienced with in Ameco. there are a lot of people in the company but Kasey, Melissa, and Eric really made my whole experience a lot smoother. The whole process did take a while but that is mainly due to 1) so cal Edison waiting to get the PTO and 2) from the influx of all the orders for solar install due to the end of federal tax credit. I admit that due to the waiting period I was getting very irritated. Imagine spending all these money on the system to try to save energy cost but ended not being able to use it for almost 6month. But Kasey, Melissa, and Eric made the whole experience a lot more pleasant. Kasey did a wonderful answering all my question during my estimate phase but not only that she still able to help me afterwards even though it wasn’t her department. Eric was detail oriented and not only installed the system beautifully but his paint job on the conduits was magnificent. The end was the part that got to me due to the waiting and communication but once Melissa took over, everything was smooth sailing after that. She calmed my nerve and was able to get me the answer that I needed. Big thank you for you guy and gals!
Summary: If there was a zero, I would have given that. You would be better going with Tesla both from price and customer service. They are very closely competing with Sunrun for the worst support.Details:1. Ameco has absolutely no attention to detail. We had very clearly communicated to them multiple times that our system needed to be no export, yet the messed it up and sent paperwork as an export system.2. Ameco has the worst project management of all vendors I communicated with. As a part of my project, we went over getting proposals from multiple vendors and all of them would have been a better option.3. There was no communication at all during the project. You would be just guessing when would the next step take place for your project.4. They have no internal coordination within their teams and you better follow up on a regular basis to figure out if you are still talking to the right person.
I would give 0 stars if I could. This is unequivocally the worst service I have ever received. Ameco has failed at every step, leaving us with an unfinished, non-functional system and costing us thousands in lost NEM 3.0 credits.Avoid this company at all costs.1) Gross Negligence on Critical Paperwork.Ameco's carelessness is staggering. We personally caught a critical error (the wrong address) on their PG&E PTO application and notified them to fix it. Incredibly, they still submitted the incorrect paperwork. This single act of incompetence has caused a cascade of massive, unacceptable delays. We are still not approved, and Ameco has shown no urgency in fixing the problem they created.2) Complete Lack of Communication and Accountability. Our representative, Ivan, completely ghosted us as soon as the contract was signed. It took numerous, persistent calls and emails over three weeks just to get the initial work scheduled. Now that there are problems, they are impossible to reach.3) Appalling Installation and Total Lack of Professionalism. The installation was a disaster.* The installer, Miguel, did not complete the original job and left garbage strewn across our property.* The work was sloppy and dangerous, with live wires left hanging, missing screws, and unsecured panels.* After we complained, Ameco sent the same installer, Miguel, back. He promptly failed to finish the installation again, leaving critical Enphase components like the gateway modem and collar literally hanging in a state of disarray.4) Perpetual System Faults (Due to Botched Installation).Because of Ameco's botched installation, our brand-new Enphase system is plagued with daily faults. We've had constant battery errors and gateway connection failures. This has forced us to spend hours on the phone with Enphase technical support trying to troubleshoot a system that Ameco failed to install correctly. Our project is still incomplete, we have no idea when we will get PTO, and we have zero confidence in this company's ability to do the job.
