I had solar installed in 2011, with 14 sunpower 225 panels and a 3kW inverter that was not doing too well after 14 years. I needed a new roof, which would require the old panels to be taken down, so I figured I'd add some more panels and a powerwall. I called the company that did the original work, and figured I'd give them a try even though they had been bought and sold a few times, they offered a returning customer discount. They gave me a frustrating run-around, and the sales person didn't even seem to know their own product. I think the last straw was when he said to me, on the third phone call "we didn't install your system so we dont know what you have." He also could never give me a quote for exactly what I was asking for - remove the old system, reinstall the existing panels with new REC panels and a powerwall, eliminating the old inverter. So I went out to look for the highest rated REC installer. Alex was a breath of fresh air. I wasn't passed around from and told I'd have to schedule a phone call with an "energy consultant." Just a phone call and a quote. It was also significantly lower than the other company, who claimed they would price match but found every way to weasel out of price matching.

Everything was done on-time as promised. The workers who did the removal and install were the best workers I've had at my house in a long time. They knew what they were doing, were friendly, and efficient. Alex loves to talk, and is very helpful at ensuring that you have whats best for your needs. He communicates well about any production matters.

Overall I am glad that I did not go with the first company and gave Alex a call, it saved me a lot of frustration and aggravation, and made things so smooth and easy.

After shopping around for almost two years (yes, years) and coming dangerously close to signing with another installer, I’m very glad I found Evolution Energy. My rep Alex was communicative, responded to questions in a timely manner, and delivered all of the services as promised and on time. This is a very busy time for solar installers with tax credits due to expire by end of year. They made sure to explain everything clearly and address any concerns I had. Tony and the install team did a great job on the panels, working carefully and doing all they could to pass inspections the first time around. They were transparent about any issues that came up (of which there were very few), made sure everything was up to code, and promptly cleaned up after themselves. For example, they quickly informed me when a roof tile broke and then immediately went out and found a replacement tile. My household is very happy with the install and glad we hired Evolution Energy. We are looking forward to saving money on utility costs for years to come!

I normally don't write review, but they are such a great team to work with that I just need to share my experience.

I recently had solar panels installed by Evolution Energy, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. After speaking with multiple installers and receiving several proposals, I decided to go with Evolution Energy for a couple of reasons. Alex was very accommodating and didn’t pressure me into a sale. He took the time to explain everything, and our conversation felt more like chatting with a friend than a sales pitch.

I initially contacted them on September 30, and by October 7, I had signed the contract. My system consists of an 8.8kW DC solar array with 21 panels and two 5kWh batteries (totaling 10kWh) to accommodate NEM 3.0. The installation also required upgrading my electrical panel from 100amp to 200amp, which added to the cost, bringing the total to $32,400. If I didn’t need the electrical panel upgrade, the total would have been closer to $29,000. They also helped install an EV charger for $750, which was a great addition.

The installation crew, including Memo, Rudy, Sam, and a few others whose names I unfortunately missed, were amazing. They were so considerate, explaining everything they were doing and keeping me informed throughout the process. It might seem like a small thing, but the fact that they always let me know when they needed to step away or would be back really stood out. It gave me peace of mind, and I didn’t have to second-guess anything, unlike the nightmare stories I’ve heard from other solar customers.

Even the owner, Sunny, stopped by to help with the stickers that needed to be placed on the panels for compliance. I had the chance to chat with him, and it was clear that he genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in his work.

What truly impressed me was their responsiveness. Every time I had a question or minor issue, they always responded the same day, often within an hour. Bruce, who helped set up my app, even went the extra mile to adjust the settings on my router to improve its efficiency. It’s clear that everyone at Evolution Energy goes above and beyond.

Another concern I had was what would happen if the system was already installed, and payments had been completed—would they still respond? I had heard horror stories from others about this, but Evolution Energy has proven this to be a non-issue. Today, I noticed that my panels weren’t producing at 100%, so I called Alex. He called me back right away and was proactive in resolving the issue, which gave me complete peace of mind.

The pricing was very reasonable, and what really stood out was how they treated me—not like just another customer, but like a person. I’ve spoken to other solar companies in the same price range, and the difference was night and day. Evolution Energy made the whole process smooth, stress-free, and even enjoyable.

The final inspection was completed on January 15, 2025, and I’m thrilled with the entire experience. If you’re thinking about going solar, I highly recommend Evolution Energy. They truly go above and beyond.
