Without a doubt the worst company I've ever done business with. They scheduled installation 6 months after the deal was signed, and when the installation date came they had to reschedule because they forgot to both order the parts, and obtain the proper permits from the township. Once the parts came in the installation date was finally set, and then it was moved again. Not all of the panels were able to be installed because some were broken so I had to wait for those to be replaced. Finally we were able to do the inspection which failed, that was almost 2 months ago and I have not gotten a response from anyone at Modern Mill. No one will respond to me or to TruHome (which is the company I bought the panels and installation from), we just get more promises of callbacks that never come. Modern Mill does not care about their customers, I cannot caution you enough against using Modern Mill or working with a company that uses Modern Mill as a contractor.Update: 3 more months have gone by and Modern Mill installed the AC disconnect in the wrong place and the power company won't give us permission to operate. Im stuck paying the loan, paying for electricity, and I have panels installed that don't work, so I cant even get someone else to do the install. Modern Mill also only responds to an email every 2-3 weeks or so with no real information.Update 2: We finally got Permission to operate 14 months after signing the agreement. Less than 1 month after we began production the inverters started shorting out. We found out the reason is because they installed a 3800 watt inverter on a solar system that produces 8000 watts. 20% of my panels are on another inverter which is still working. Modern Mill used this to say that since I am still producing there is no emergency and I would likely hear back from them in a week. At this point I am assuming that it will take months to simply swap out the inverter. I have lost any faith in this company I might have had.
I am so disappointed in this solar company. We purchased and had our solar panels installed approximately 4 years ago. Before we purchased, we knew we had to have a roof replaced in a few years. We mentioned this to the salesmen, he replied that his company would come in, take them off, and reinstall at no cost. We trusted this salesmen (big mistake) words and believed this was placed in the contract. Well now it is time to replace our roof. We called the company...this company in Royal Oak closed, they are now in Indiana and Illinois. No one told us that they had moved out of the state and the salesman no longer works for them. The company refuses to take off the panels and replace at no cost, unfortunately it is not written in the contract. That is a special contract not given to residential. Buyer beware. This company takes your money with no followup. They want 6000.00 to do the job. They just want your thousands of dollars.
This solar is a joke they lied to me during the time of installation and on the Quote the payment for the solar is twice as much as they said it would be and the solar panels them self is twice as much as they said. They also said I get a 13k backnafyer the first of the year for having a business out of there and that was also a lie I would never suggest modern mills solar to anyine unless you want to pay twice as much as you are right now. I jave tried to contact them for over a year now and they will not answer or call or email back they will screw you over do not to solar it is a joke and is not worth it at all.
Tyler, John and Sebastian did a great job on our installation. They had to tear up and replace a brick walkway for underground installation. They worked nonstop to get the job done. Thanks guys!!
