We've worked with Source Solar twice (we moved into a new home, so we used them in Claremont and in Culver City), and both times, they've been amazing. When they initially inspected our roof, they were completely honest with us - they said that they wouldn't want to put solar on a roof that only had a few years left on it. The other solar bidders made no such mention because they didn't want to risk losing our business. We ended up getting a new roof and it took 2 months from signing the contract to receiving Permission to Operate - we know that some of it is out of their hands (for instance, our city needed to review the plans and approve the setup, SoCal Edison needed to set up the meter and grant PTO) but the Source Solar team was ON TOP OF IT every single step of the way. I've heard nightmare stories of the process dragging out for months and months - but they kept us posted on each step of the process, and they were incredibly professional and kind. I can't recommend them enough!
I had an excellent experience with Source Solar. Ryan was friendly, reliable, and professional throughout the entire process. Ryan was quick to respond to texts and phone calls when I had questions regarding the next steps. The installation was quick and smooth. His team was always on time, and they kept me in the loop with the installation which was very helpful. I’m very happy with the results. I highly recommend them to anyone who is considering getting solar.
So I got over 12 estimates for solar. Wanted a 10KW system. Prices were all over the place. Source Solar had the best prices and service. Let me tell you about my solar experience. First I have been avoiding the solar guys that come knocking on my door for at least 10 years. I finally did some math and figured I could save money. In short, my average bill was $225 per year with SCE. New bill is $175. Source Solar helped me get a 5% Solar Loan, no money down for 12 years. The panels are guaranteed for 25 years of output and I own them. In 12 years my loan will be paid off and I will have panels that are still making me electricity except I will have no bill! Also for the next 13 years I save $50 per month!! Win Win.. The panels should give me 18 years of power guaranteed after the initial 12 year loan is paid for. With Source Solar I now have a system that provides more electricity than I will need. They are able to offer competitive prices because Source Solar is a small company. Ryan and Josh are very friendly. I had no issues at all with them. Ryan offered me several options for solar. He was easy to work with and communicated well on the phone, by text and email. They were on time with appointments. They installed everything in just a few days. The work looks very clean and neat. They even painted the electrical conduit to match our house exactly. I am very happy I found them, so happy I had to post a great review. Again I shopped around and had prices that were double what Source Solar offered. Sunrun Solar was the Highest with a long 20 year loan, ouch. So if your looking to get Solar or just want an estimate give Ryan a call!

I am general contractor and recently used Source Solar for a 11KW system on a large remodel. Ryan worked with my client and designed the system based on their home and lifestyle, took care of all the plans and permitting and completed the project at a high level for the original cost agreed upon and within the schedule that I required. One thing that sets them apart from other solar contractors is they have a lot of other building experience and understanding of structure, roofing, utilities and flashing that allow them to take care of the property and project as a whole and limits mistakes due to lack of knowledge of what is inside walls and attic spaces etc while installing the PV panels. Also Ryan and Josh seem very passionate and up to speed with new products and changes in the industry. I recommend them now to any of my clients, friends and family who are interested in solar.
