I would have to say this company is 5 stars in my book; especially Malik the young man I worked with during this entire process. I was totally skeptical about getting my roof done because I have solar panels on my home. I was concerned about the warranty and I wasn't sure if they were going to reinstall them properly. My project was completed about a week ago and I can honestly say every detail Malik told me-happened like clock-work. This is probably the second time I dealt with a contractor/consultant---and everything they said was TRUE. Malik was highly professional, he was accessible and knowledgeable. It was awesome to see a young man take care business for his customers. If/when I have any future projects, I will definitely reach out to MINT Exteriors and Malik to get the job done.
There were no surprises during my project and everything was exactly as they said it would be. Their honesty and professionalism has made a customer for life (as long as their business philosophy doesn't change). I had a few things happen during the project---and Malik and David were AWESOME and took care of every problem. Can't say enough about these guys. Men who are true to their word. I'm sure everyone knows--that is hard to find these days. David was the person dealing on-site with the project. He is a true professional as well and very knowledgeable. My overall assessment of this company is: Malik and David are true top-notch guys. So that says a lot about MINT Exteriors. Based on my interaction with their personnel, I know MINT Exteriors is an excellent company with high integrity and do awesome, high level work. Thanks again Malik and David!

I currently have solar panels, however the company I originally purchased them went out of business. I found myself in need of some help answering questions about the panels, so I started calling solar companies in my area. I must have left a message for 4 companies and Jacob at Mint Solar was the only person who called me back.
He said that since his office was close by, he would swing by, check some things out for me and get back to me. And you know what, he kept his promise and did just that.
It's not often someone will help you out for the sake of helping you out, but Jacob and Mint Solar did. And I promise you this, if I ever need something solar or roofing related, I'm calling Jacob. Thank you Jacob and Mint. You took the time to help a non-customer, and have earned yourself a definite customer in the future.

We were researching the cost and ROI for solar energy for our home. We contacted Mint because we wanted to do business with a local reputable company. They came to our home to meet with us. After reviewing the kilowatt hours we use vs the cost through our co-op electric company, and we did not qualify for the tax incentive, the Mint rep spoke to us honestly. He felt that the investment in solar for us as senior citizens, was not a good investment. So now we know! How wonderful to deal with a truly reputable and honest company! Wow!

We were not sure if we wanted solar. We used the MINT website to fill out the survey for the solar. We did not get a bunch of calls asking us questions we didn't know. We got a text message asking when we would be available for a meeting. We set a time and date and met with Ryan. He went over all of the possible options we had for solar in our area he gave us 2 proposals for solar and showed us a full cost break down and a cost of ownership, he showed us diffrent solar panel options and gave us his best recommendations. After the meeting with Ryan we discussed what our options were and after 3 months we decided to go with MINT. During the 3 months we did not get bombarded with calls and text we weren't alone to make an informed decision which in my book will get my business quicker than trying to rush me into something I don't want or my need. Once we told Ryan what we wanted we moved forward with everything. Again Ryan and his team did all the work. They found us financing what worked within our budget, they filled all the needed permits with the city and got the approval from our HOA prior to work starting. The system we had installed is currently at 100% efficiency which means we are off the grid and running on pure solar during the day. Ryan has come by to ensure the system is working properly this has happened twice, once the day after installation and 1 month later. This is true customer service and by far the best contractor I have hired.

TL:DR Mint was not my lowest bid, but was the most complete, and the quality of their install, communication, and support is worth much more than the price difference. If you are considering solar, call Mint.

I was interested in installation of solar panels on the back slope of the roof of my metal building. I wanted the install to be as invisible as possible, so if you approached the house from the street, the aesthetics of the house and shop would not be altered by the solar array or interconnection equipment.
I requested and received bids from seven different companies, ensured they were all quoting the same installation (power needs, install location, etc). Questions and responses to most of the bidders were either ignored or received limited responses. Most discussions were limited to how to finance and when they could start. Most of the bids were “thrown over the wall”. There was no physical site survey or installation site review beyond Google Maps site review (which did not show the completed shop) and no detailed discussion. If anything I wanted deviated from what they had assumed, I would either have to pay more to have it done the way I wanted, or have an install that didn’t meet my requirements.
In contrast, Mint came out several times in person to talk about the specific details of my installation – where the panels will be installed, conduit runs, interconnect box locations, etc. These discussions were candid, honest, and detailed and ensured that the bid and install reflected what I wanted. As far as the bid and selection process, Mint inspired confidence in their ability, interest in the project, and quote accuracy whereas others left a disconnected feeling, that something was missing, or I was just another number in a stack. Mint handled all the permits and interconnection paperwork, making the process seamless from the customer side. My involvement was the occasional homeowner signature. Funding options were clearly discussed to include cash payment and financing options (very low interest rates). Communication was excellent, with regular updates on project status, work schedule, and rapid detailed answers to questions. Installation was fast – the system was up and running, producing usable power in fewer than five days (from first dirt movement to last item addressed) the majority of the install was completed in a day.
Quality is shown in the details and Mint’s install demonstrated their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. They repaired the sprinkler plumbing that was damaged during trenching without hesitation (there was no discussion or need for discussion, Mint saw they damaged it, and just fixed it). Details like capping the roof rails (something I would have never put eyes on, but visible by drone), painting the conduit to match the building, and relocating a gutter downspout (rather than bending conduit over it, which would have looked terrible) ensured that the installation result was as attractive as possible, with no negative aesthetic impact. The installation is not visible from the street – Mint installed both electrical enclosures, the conduit runs, and the panels in such a manner that you can only see a small piece of conduit near the house, if you know what you are looking for.
Mint is local to Waxahachie, not an out of state entity, so support is one local call away, and is provided with people in the community.
If I had another solar project to complete, Mint would be the first, and indeed the only, company I would call. It was a pleasure to do business with them, their materials and workmanship are top quality, and I wholly recommend them to any considering solar.
