Quote was less than half of what others gave me. Windows came in and our house stays so much cooler than our old single pane windows. If you can afford to wait 2-3 weeks for windows I would highly recommend
No showed for confirmed window appointments 4 times so far. Absolute disaster of a business. Be prepared to wait for them and wait for them only to find out they aren’t showing up. Oh, and also, so far 4 windows have had Freon leaks.
We live in Lake Forest. A neighbor suggested DJ Windows and provided a contact - Todd Alexander. Todd picked up quickly and we set up an appointment. From there, he came by followed by his measuring tech. The workers were great - they came in the morning and were finished by mid afternoon. Very pleased with their work - they cleaned up after too and did not leave a mess. Two sliding doors and a window. Great job.The only thing I would say we needed to do was to communicate often through text with Todd to make sure the process was moving along. Todd was very responsive. From the time we first made the call to the windows being installed took less than two months (that's including Christmas and New Years).
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with DJ Windows and Doors has been so unacceptable that I feel obligated to warn others.I ordered a garden window for $2,999, and their salesperson, Todd Alexander, assured me--verbally and in writing--that it would take two weeks to manufacture. This turned out to be completely untrue. I had been considering Wintorium Windows, who were honest about their timelines, and I regret not going with them.I also placed a larger order for my Torrance property:* another garden window* a 6-ft sliding door* six stationary windows* one bathroom windowA measurement tech came out, and I was scheduled for installation on 12/19. No one called to confirm the appointment or provide a time window. Two installers (Ricardo and another worker) showed up at noon and left at 4 PM, and not even close to all the work was completed. The issues were extensive:* The garden window was left sitting in my garage.* Several windows were installed without caulking.* The 6-ft slider was manufactured too short, and the installers tried to cover the mistake with double moulding instead of acknowledging the incorrect size.* My husband, who works in construction, had to intervene because the installer insisted he could "fix" the size issue with foam--completely unacceptable for a major structural opening.* One installer was visibly ill and repeatedly blowing his nose extremely loudly throughout the job.* The bathroom window was also the wrong size, leaving several inches of moulding around it and reducing the actual glass area. It also was not the upslide window I ordered.I spoke with David (who said he was the owner), Ishmael, and Ricardo, and all three promised they would return on 12/22 to review the problems and complete installation and remeasure. At this point, after paying over $3,000, I am seriously considering requesting a full refund and hiring Wintorium instead. Based on what I've seen, I do not believe this crew is capable of installing these products correctly.I've used Bear Windows and Wintorium Windows on multiple properties and have never experienced anything like this. This has been a complete disaster from start to finish, and I cannot recommend DJ Windows and Doors.
I’m still having a horrible experience with them….on going and will add more info later on…..Would not recommend at all.The quality of their dual pane glasses are not good either the seals are weak and you get markings in between the dual pane and there’s nothing you can do.They replaced it 3 times and the same thing happened. And then they finally had it prepared from another window company! Now we still have a major issue with an angled window like a skylight but they used a regular window frame and put silicone in the frame to make it waterproof instead of actually using a skylight type of frame to prevent water from coming in. After a year it rained and water fills inside the window frame and comes out on the inside dripping. Many other issues that we had mentioned to Todd before and he assured us that we wouldn’t have an issue, but we did and it’s very disappointing. Also asked them to please make sure to bring scaffolding for this replacement like 10 times on every conversation. And yet they showed us with a ladder. This is an 18’ high window over the upstairs bathroom shower and there’s no way you can do this job with a ladder. They simply ignored what I asked. And the workers tried to go rent it out and wasn’t available. They wasted my time and my day off. Also they were going to replace only the glass and then put a plexiglass on top of the glass and stick it on top with silicone!!! I said whaaaat!???? Plexiglass is not going to stand the sun and rain and it will warp and crack and turn yellow!! This kind of Mickey mouse business is not gonna fly with me!Also when they originally replaced the windows they never once told us that fixing the stucco is not going to be part of it and we need to hire someone else to do it after. So they left everything open and walls broken up, and the next day was a rainy day!! So water got in and ruined so much of the new drywall work we did and we had to postpone our project for redoing and drying the inside of the walls. If I knew I would arrange someone to come in right after them and repair the stucco walls.I’m all about supporting local businesses but this is not the kind of service I expected. To be continued until they replace the frame of the angled ceiling window.
