I ordered some beautiful solid core, 6 panel doors for the interior of my home. The doors were excellent quality, the service was great and the doors arrived on schedule. In addition they needed special setup for the vintage milk glass door knobs I was using and they fit perfectly. When I need doors I will definitely use Timberline.
Great experience at Timberline! I upgraded to an electronic lock system through Timberline, plus purchased new window screens. I love our electronic lock - I special ordered as I wanted a particular look. In two weeks i had exactly what I ordered! We also replaced two window screens. They came out and measured, and a week later I was able to enjoy our Alaskan summer without the mosquitos! Thanks guys!
I used Timberline to make a couple "custom" door frames for me. After I got the doors back, the frames were EXTREMELY basic (I say that because the cost was high and the quality was LOW) --- I was even told by my door installer that I should have them redone! I paid $500 for one of the door frames alone and it just made me sick. Everyone who has seen these frames tells me I got ripped off. My finish carpenter who I hired toward the end of the project even said he could have made a better doorframe for $100! In a brand new house, you don't want people describing anything as "a hack job", but that's what happened on my custom door frames. Not to mention the doors were also done about a month late.In addition to that, the customer service was hit-or-miss. When I asked for a receipt for the doors when I initially dropped them off, the receptionist acted offended and tried to make me feel like I was being rude. She gave me a scribbled piece of paper with the info on it.I don't recommend this business. If you need custom door frames made, find an experienced carpenter who will give you your money's worth. I basically lit my money on fire when I went here.
I ordered screens from Timberline. Their representative came to my home and measured my windows. He was very thorough and took time to ensure his measurments were correct, he was polite, professional, explained the process of fabricating the screens and provided me with frame color options. The screens fit like gloves, they add a nice astectic look to the windows and I can have fresh air without the BUGS. Thanks again to Shawn and his staff for such a pleasant experience. Oh the cost was way reasonable.
I ordered custom doors from Timberline Millwork in February 2010 and could not be more displeased with the service I received. My product arrived approx. one month after the promised delivery date after numerous delays. When my doors arrived, the window trim did not match, the quality of caulking was poor, and the hardware was missing pieces and mis-matched. After installation, the sealant around window trim spread away from windows (i.e. not only towards windows as expected) creating a mess and ruining the stain. A company employee came to my house to inspect the doors after receiving my complaint and admitted company fault, promising to repair as obligated under warranty. A second company representative later called to retract admission of fault and obligation to repair. The customer (dis)service I received was generally inattentive throughout and failed to follow through on promises from the moment payment was received until my last contact with this company. I have lived in Anchorage for ~15 years and have made it a point to support local businesses. I will NEVER support this business again.
