Customer feedback highlights helpful in-shop guidance and attentive service on small residential projects, with several noting clear communication and timely completion. Some reviews praise staff who assist with specialty or custom glass selections. Critical reviews point to instances of measuring or product issues and difficulties reaching staff or getting follow-up. Overall sentiment is mixed but trends positive on shop service while emphasizing the importance of clear expectations and coordination.

Would give 1.5 stars if I could due to actual technicians that did work were solid, everything beyond that was poor to horrible with this business. I rarely leave reviews, exceptional or horrible experiences. The ownership, estimator/operations lead and front desk of this company are horrible. If you would like two mis-measured windows that do not fit by 6” either side and your existing window was destroyed as it was removed with no one test fitting new window so you then get sheets of OSB and no view for your new window, hire these guys. Then 30 plus days of an OSB dark hole later they come back again with the wrong windows because someone forgot spec out single hung vs. the non-opening sheets of glass, hire these guys. 60 plus days after that you finally will get the correct windows that fit installed…….so over 90 days later and three times of opening your home up in the winter due to their mistakes, hire these guys. “When you have Western Glass Company handle your glass project, you can rest assured that we will get the job done right the first time”, literally says that on their website, completely FALSE!
Shawn was consistently dismissive that it was Western glass fault instead he would blame the window manufacturer. Also dismissive that we as customers were put out at all, would defensively blame anyone else or downplay. Unprofessional and terrible customer interactions.
Zero acknowledgement financially that the job was a complete failure when we got final bill. Actually had the audacity to charge $130 over quote. When confronted about charge, Bill I assume the owner, says he did not overcharge and that I got the windows I paid for at the end of it so you pay what you were quoted (and apparently $130 extra just rub some salt in there)!! Yup Bill pretty sure I didn’t pay you to screw up ordering/measuring windows two separate times and 90 plus days later to finally get it right then charge me more than the quote and be rude to my wife and I.
They could have been professional and made it right, complete opposite. Zero acknowledgement that this was a train wreck, acted like normal business operations…….which after dealing with overhead of this company for well over three months that is what you are getting.

Heidi Makoutz on Western Glass Company

I had an excellent experience with Western Glass on a small residential window replacement and storm window replacement - I had to search around for help as there aren't many companies doing residential - at least not on small scale. I went to their shop and from start to finish the service and communication was kind and clear. So helpful to have window replacement complete on our home before colder weather comes our way! I highly recommend them.

I have used Western glass on a couple of small projects and I can’t speak highly enough of the customer service given by Jim and his team. Even in the busiest of times for the construction industry in Bozeman, Jim has given my small jobs his full attention. He walked with me through the shop to select a particular piece of antiqued glass for a custom mirror. On another occasion he replaced a piece of custom glass for a kitchen cabinet free of charge. Western Glass installed wire mesh on another set of bar cabinets and it looks amazing. Lastly, and this shows how kind Jim is, I stopped by to drop off cabinet doors and I had a newly purchased lilac tree in the bed of our pickup. I mentioned casually that I was worried about the wind doing damage to the tree on the ride home and Jim went in the back and got a large sheet of butcher paper and a stapler and he wrapped the tree to protect it for the ride home. This is a perfect example of small town feel customer service in a not so small town. thank you Jim and Western Glass I’m a big fan!!

Western Glass does not accept digital payments as well as they install faulty product. I decided to go with them initially due to cost savings but will end up paying more in the end. The picture attached is of the glass that they installed a year ago that now has huge streaks running up and down.

Was referred to them by the milgard window company since they don’t stand behind the lifetime warranty, original purchased the windows, frames are cracking, inside glue between pain is dripping between the glass and looks horrible, Milgard sent the measurements to bill to order the windows no reply, I’ve called and left messages to order the windows no reply. Sent bill emails no reply.
Don’t buy Milgard and I would pass on this window company if you can, but in this monopoly of a valley not many options. Lowes or Home Depot.

Frequently Asked Questions

They can help with window glass replacement, insulated glass units, shower doors and enclosures, and various specialty glass needs. Plexiglass and simple door or cabinet glass projects are also common requests.

You can call ahead or stop by during weekday hours to discuss your project and measurements. For site visits or larger jobs, scheduling is recommended to ensure the right staff are available.

In many cases, they can source comparable glass types or patterns and will review options in the shop. Availability can vary by supplier and lead times, so it’s best to bring photos or samples if possible.

Timing depends on whether the glass is in stock or must be ordered, as well as current workload. Simple replacements may turn around quickly, while special-order insulated units or custom pieces take longer.

Bring approximate measurements, photos of the existing window or door, and any notes on thickness, pattern, or brand if known. This helps staff provide a more accurate price range and lead time.
