Unfortunately in 25 yrs of business this was the most dishonest company I've had to deal with. We had a client that needed a window pane replaced on the fixed portion of an uninstalled window brought to them. Their charge was significantly more than the entire OPENING window including the screen. After repeated attempts to get a call back regarding the ridiculous charges, I was finally able to ask if this was a mistake. I asked about their hourly rate, I already knew what the sealed unit retailed at so the math was simple. I took their glass price, multiplied it by the time they said it took to install and it STILL didn't add up to their own invoice! So I directly asked the manager about this and he basically laughed, unable to even come close to making the numbers look right. Very disappointed in their lack of integrity. I would courier an entire window at twice the cost if I had to do it again just to not support this kind of business ethic but unfortunately, the damage was done already.

We had a mishap and one of our water facing windows cracked. Modern sent someone out right away to do an estimate and I was told it would likely be 4-6 weeks from time of order. Paid my deposit on the 14th of October. Someone else came on the 17th to confirm the measurements and I got a call November 10th asking if it would be convenient for them to come and do the install that afternoon. A great team showed up and quickly, efficiently swapped out the window with great teamwork and friendly banter. Everyone I dealt with throughout the process was pleasant and professional and I was thrilled to have the job completed so quickly. Thanks Modern

Derrick called on us to estimate the cost of replacing our 50 year old sliding door to our deck. Debbie arranged a convenient time for the work to be done. Everything went smoothly as scheduled. Chris and Aaron came to do the work. It was removing the existing door from a stucco exterior wall so very challenging. Plus it was on a summer day that was 30 degrees. They were really great and very pleasant to get along with and left the area they were working in cleaner than when they came. We are very pleased with the work done and how smoothly everything went from start to finish and won’t hesitate to recommend Modern to people we know. ***I should add that we had Modern replace all the windows in our home when we purchased it in 2008 and they were the only ones we felt it necessary to call for this job*** Thanks so much, Jim and Holly, Nanaimo

Modern’s crew, Ron and Josh, worked efficiently to install three doors which arrived on time. At the end of their work, they did a thorough clean up and left the worksite better than when they started. I highly recommend Modern for professionalism with estimate, ordering, scheduling, installation and follow up.

My experience with Modern Windows in Powell River was beyond exceptional!!! From the first phone call I made to the to inquire about sliding doors and closet doors and then later on not knowing it my front door handle. Their customer service is so warm and inviting its like talking to an old friend. When the gentleman came to my house to do an assessment he was very understanding and very knowledgeable and he knew what the other department knew too. I like this a lot because a lot of the times when you deal with a business an employee only knows their area or their department and you have to be transferred or go to another person or area to find out an answer to another question you have. With Modern Windows I found everyone was knowledgeable in all areas and I didn't get the run around at all and all my questions were answered by the same person at the same spot at the same time. At Modern they are very punctual as it didn't take long to get my estimate and I also got a date for my installation and they ended up calling me and asked if they could come sooner as the day they booked me on they found out it was going to rain. What outstanding service! Of course I let them come early. The two guys that did the installation were fabulous and did an outstanding job. I am very satisfied with my new doors and my fixed door. One of the guys who came noticed the lever on my front door and he tried to fix it and I asked him if he thinks I need a new door and he was honest with me and said no and that I just need a new lever. He was fantastic just like the guy that did my estimate as both could of said I needed new doors and they both said I just need it fixed. Now that is being about the customer and exceptional customer service ??! So then I ended up getting the front door lever from them and for them to come and install it. So if you or anyone you know are in the market for Windows or doors make sure you go to Modern Windows as they are exceptional and you won't be disappointed ??!

We recently had Modern Windows come and replace our front door as well as our patio sliding doors. After a miss communication occurred that left us a bit unhappy with our new front door, Dave - General Manager was quick to address it and replaced a glass panel at no extra cost to us. We really appreciated the extra mile he went to correct the situation and to ensure our happiness with our new door. Install team was also amazing, prompt and very polite. Would definitely recommend Modern Windows.

Modern Windows Courtenay was referred to me by a neighbour to replace several large windows and sliding doors where the seals had broken. I was very impressed with their reasonable quote and professional work. Great cleanup too. Well done. Thank you Modern Windows.

We rebuilt our deck and had Modern handle the new vinyl installation. The new deck looks great! We finished up the new railings ourselves (still a little work to go!) and combined with the new vinyl are very happy with the entire project. If I were to offer some criticism it is that they were typically slow to respond to email, sometimes with delays over a week. This did not ultimately change the install date, and was not a big enough deal to remove any stars from this rating, but if you require an immediate response I suggest phoning rather than email.
