This place is absolutely horrible. Please save your money and time and shop elsewhere. I purchased a door on 9/24 a cash and carry and was assured the door would arrive two days later. When my contractor arrived the following morning the door was not there. We were told the door had not shipped and was still at the warehouse on gratiot. No apology or arrangement to have the door delivered, my contractor had to pick it up. Within 30 days the door began to rust and the enamel chipping off. I immediately contacted the company and was lied to and told a work order would be placed. Fast forward 3 more calls and was finally told they would not warranty the door because they didn't install. WHAT!! Mind you I only had issues with the door. The manager never contacted me or came to the phone to discuss my issue. Please, please, please stay away. Their quality and customer service has gone down and they need to be forced out of our neighborhood
First let me start off by saying the measuring and estimate appointment went well. They made sure we understood it would take four weeks before they were able to do the work. We put a deposit down and were told they would disposal the doors we had. A little after four weeks Teresa called to let us know the guys would be out to install, and told us our remaining balance. We were excited for the install.The guys (two of them)came out and installed the doors within 3 hours, the job looks great and they did cleanup after.However, here is why they are getting three stars, because as I said, the job looks great. But, they took my dust pan after they asked to borrow it ( I called and they said they would bring it back. I still have not received it) , then they left the doors stating it would be an additional 20$, but I was told when putting the deposit down they would take them. I did not make a fuss because I know someone who hauls junk. Today, I went to take the trash out and they put all the trash they ripped out the old doors in our trash can, so now I can’t put my regular trash in there. Detroit is strict on housing scraps being put in trash bin and now we have to figure that out.Here is a suggestion for you all going forward. Bring a trash bin with you to haul away housing materials/ trash or let the customer know you don’t have that option, then we can prepare better.Thank You,Eboni
Sales person came to my home in May 2025, provided me a quote, he told me installation would be 4-6 weeks after Foreman comes to take official measurements for my patio door wall...that was in early June 2026. I am still waiting to get my patio door installed. They have my $2,300 deposit and have made 2 delivery promises that have not been kept, I have constantly gotten the run a round. I was told that I can't cancel my "SPECIAL ORDER" and I can't get my deposit back! It's been 5 months! I am beyond angry and will never do business with them again. I do not recommend them at all! The Big box stores would not have treated their customers this way!
Had a side door replaced, the door and security door were installed very well! However the door hardware was completely off. Totally out of level and looks terrible. They came back out and couldn’t do anything to fix it because they drilled the hole so far off they couldn’t adjust it properly.Tried to tell me that was how it had to be. In the end I paid about $1900 for two doors to be installed great but with the sloppy hardware and not wanting to fix it.Was going to use them for the front door but won’t be doing that now.
Excellent job on our new door from Protector! We’re very happy! Glenn came out to us & showed us our options. We wanted to shop around & see what else was out there but after a few stops, we decided we were wasting our time & called Glenn on Monday to schedule our job. Our door was broken & Glenn put a rush on getting our door ordered & installed at no extra cost. Marty, the installer, did a great job putting in the new door, security plate & lock set. The deadbolt & door lock match up perfectly to the recesses, no jiggling the door to get them to line up properly. Marty was very professional & courteous, he couldn’t use our old trim & went out of his way to find a very similar trim that would fit the new door. Give that man a bonus, he did a great job!
