Homestar was awesome to work with! They came down and measured for our doors and went through all the options with us and quickly got us a quote. They kept us updated throughout the whole process. The team installing the doors did a fantastic job and even cleaned up afterwards. We will definitely use them again.
We love our new door, and the door installers were friendly and easy to work with. We also ordered two small windows original to our 1978 home, but the overall process had avoidable issues, particularly inconsistent experiences with the two different window installation teams. The sales rep accidentally listed the windows in the details section of the purchase order, so they were never actually ordered (order placed 10/24). I’m not sure if this was the fault of the sales rep or the purchasing team, but either way the windows weren’t listed as a separate line item than the door, so I can understand why it was missed. We only discovered the windows weren’t ordered during the door installation when I asked those installers if they had any idea when to expect the windows. After waiting another six weeks, the windows arrived and were scheduled for install on 1/21. That new crew spent about five minutes at our house and told me they were the wrong size and needed to be reordered, adding another four weeks. When a third team installed the windows on 2/24, they said the original windows would have fit just fine and could have been installed back in January if the initial crew spent enough time. I appreciated their honesty, but it was frustrating given the delays and conflicting information. This may be nitpicky to add, but I was also frustrated that the third team didn’t move our furniture or rug back into place after finishing the job.The final product looks great, but for a $5k+ order that took four months, I expected better communication, accountability, and urgency in resolving the mistakes. I’d still recommend HomeStar for quality, but the customer experience could use improvement.
Today HomeStar Windows installed our beautiful and efficient Milgard windows and we are very pleased with the whole process: In-home meeting with JB, showroom visit to choose the windows just right with us, and today's flawless installation by Carson and Stephan. What a team HomeStar has! ??Even Kerstin in the office was a real pro scheduling and answering our several questions. My only remaining question is, Why did we wait so many years to get these amazing windows?!
Would give ten stars if I could! We had many new windows and five new doors installed by Clayton, Mike, and Max from HomeStar. Excellent from start to finish. JB was very patient with me as we planned for my vision. He made several trips to our home to measure, show samples, etc. KaiCee was always helpful and responded quickly to texts and emails. The time quoted for the windows and doors to arrive was accurate. Install finished one day earlier than planned. The crew was friendly, arrived when they said they would, and left the house spotless. I am so glad that we went with HomeStar. We called in many estimates from different window companies, but HomeStar just felt right. Windows and doors are gorgeous and we will be requesting the same team to return this spring when we have the last of the new windows installed. This was an enormous project and we are absolutely thrilled with the result. Thank you!
Ultimately disappointed in the services provided by HomeStar. To make a long story as short as possible, we were told our project would take 6-8 weeks to order and install our windows and door, but unfortunately it took 16 weeks from start to finish.Emails went unanswered. Telephone messages were not returned. Scheduling errors caused the installers to show up late or not show up all when they were supposed to. They even showed up on our doorstep one day when no one told us they were coming.Multiple Installation errors were also made, (See attached photos) causing the installers to return to our house a handful of extra times. All of their mistakes were eventually fixed, but let me be clear, they were only fixed after I demanded they come back and fix them…Ultimately I felt like I paid a lot of money to manage a house project that I thought I was paying someone else to manage. No compensation or reconciliation was offered. Not even an apology. If I were to do it over again, I would pay a little more money and go with one of the more reputable big name window installation companies in Utah or I would save some money and go through Home Depot. I don’t think HomeStar offered anything more than what a Home Depot experience would be…
