Today I called Fairfield Glass to fix a double-pane window in my kitchen. The owner, Dwight, showed up about 25 minutes later. When I greeted him and asked how his day was going, he replied: “It was fine until I saw you.” That comment was very disrespectful. He later said he was “just kidding,” but I found it inappropriate.I showed him the window, and after taking some measurements, he quoted me $280, with a $20 discount if I paid cash. However, he demanded full payment upfront before ordering materials. As a licensed contractor myself, I know this is illegal under California law. When I told him this, he tried to argue that the law had changed. I explained that if I ever did what he was asking with my own clients, my license would be at risk.I began to wonder if he was treating me this way because I am Latino. I asked him directly if he would do the same with a white customer. He did not respond. At that point, I told him I no longer felt comfortable and asked him to leave.Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Fairfield Glass. In my opinion, Dwight was unprofessional, disrespectful, and displayed behavior that I consider discriminatory.
Dwight is awesome! Super friendly and accommodating!
SUPERB service! It only took 3 days, from assessing to ordering then replacing our broken glass windows. I would give Dwight more than 5 stars! Thank you for your great service!
I called-in the the same day and Dwight repaired our broken window and fixed it in less than an hour, replacing it with a better window at an exceptional price. Exceptional service and very friendly and humorous. Highly recommended and would definitely do service again with this great private company.
