Pricing is described as reasonable by some reviewers, and scheduling is generally reported as efficient. A smaller number of reviews cite quality-control issues that were corrected after follow-up.

Will not hire again. The end result was pretty and functional. However, I had to contact the business owner multiple times during the remodel process due to the poor quality of work by the team on site. Basic issues that I identified were materials and accessories being installed Not level or off-center. Gaps in closet, Shower temperature unable to get above lukewarm. Everything was corrected after I asked. However, I would expect a team that value the quality of their work to have installed them correctly, the first time. The price I paid was slightly above that I was quoted from other companies, And I would have expected high-quality work. I recently had a plumber under my house for a leak that was caused by the construction team leaving my shutoff gate valve open too wide, and they commented that I had done a good DIY job with my bathroom plumbing Install. He assumed it was DIY because a vent was not installed for the tub drain, which is not to code. I will not be moving forward with using this company for a separate Laundry room project I had asked them to quote and have found an alternate company for my remodeling needs.

We needed to remodel my father’s bathroom to meet accessibility needs. The space was extremely tight, with a shower insert and a door that swung inward—making wheelchair access nearly impossible. We secured a VA HISA grant, which required a zero-threshold shower, ADA-compliant sink, and a door that swung outward.

We first contacted West Shore Home, but they only do gut-and-replace work with no changes to the layout. Their plan would’ve looked almost identical to the original—just new fixtures, no ADA sink, and no solution for my father using a wheelchair. For the price quoted, it didn’t make sense.

Then we found TruBlue Renovations, a veteran-owned company led by Bryan—who listened, looked at the space, and figured out how to make it work for my dad. His team:

• Took out the bulky shower insert and moved the water line inside the wall to gain space.
• Installed a wall-mounted ADA-compliant sink so my dad could roll right up to it.
• Proposed widening the door to ADA standard (at least 32 inches), but when that wasn’t in the budget, Bryan came up with a workaround: removed the door frame, opening it to 29 inches—which we tested with my dad’s wheelchair and it worked perfectly.
• Suggested a sliding barn-style door instead of a swing-out—another creative fix that met VA’s requirement and solved the issue of the original door swinging inward toward the shower.

They finished everything within the VA’s 60-day HISA deadline, and the workmanship was excellent. The only thing we didn’t change was the mirror cabinet—outdated, yes, but my mom wanted to keep it.

If you’re a veteran or caregiver navigating the VA HISA grant process, TruBlue Renovations is the team you want. Bryan and his crew listened, adapted, and worked within our budget—finding real workarounds that made the space safe and accessible. Unlike West Shore, TruBlue actually made the layout work for my dad.

Note: The HISA grant helped offset the cost, but this was a full remodel beyond what the grant alone would cover. TruBlue made every dollar count.

Every person that came to the house was extremely knowledgeable and kind. Many had great suggestions that I could never think of as a non-contractor. Our kitchen is now our perfect kitchen that turned out better than we expected. Andrew, Justin, Ricky, and Steve stood out and stayed to ensure the job was done and perfect! :))
Thank you as well to the office staff, Darlene and Savannah that helped with communication and answered every question we had. :)

Nicole Trevino on TruBlue Renovations LLC

TruBlu did an amazing job on the renovation of my master bathroom, closet, and master bedroom when we experienced an unexpected home issue!! They were friendly, responsive, and it was wonderful working with them. I would recommend them to anyone looking for help with their home.

We understand the difficulties of communicating and operating in a busy environment, and always appreciate someone who provides reasonable prices in comparison to other contractors. We had TruBlue previously do windows on our house and they were phenomenal a few years ago so we decided to go back to them after lightning struck a tree in our back yard, damaging a significant portion of our fence. They completed the project in a day and were extremely professional through the entire process and communicated any delays without hesitation. Highly recommend this business for any work needed to be done around your home. You will not find a more affordable and professional contractor.
