Had some cracked windows in an old travel trailer that needed replaced, I brought them the windows as well as the aluminum frames they went in. The windows fit in a glazing gasket that they threw away and tried to replicate with black silicone (perhaps the old gasket was not reusable). They used so little silicone though that by the time I picked the windows up and brought them home all 4 windows were rattling in their frames where the silicone failed (pic 1) this is unacceptable as it would cause the windows to leak and also draft. Some spots on some windows didn't hardly have any silicone at all which would cause the glass to have no seal and rub directly against the metal window frame (pic 2) I ended up having to take all 4 windows back apart cut all the silicone out and reinstall the correct gaskets myself (pic3) only to find poor craftsmanship in the glasswork as well. The silicone and aluminum frame covered up the poor cut glass being very chipped and sharp. The radius corners were not radiused but poorly chipped and broke away until it would barely fit in the frame which made it extremely difficult to install the correct gaskets. One window was so poorly cut that it didnt even fit in the frame rather they filled the gap with silicone! Overall I'm just disappointed in their poor craftsmanship and their attempts to hide it. It doesn't bother me that they tried to replace the glaze gasket with silicone, it bothers me that they cut the glass and then siliconed them in so poorly that I had to do the job twice. The only plus side is that they did the job fairly cheap, however I would've paid more for the job to have been done right the first time! Had they cut the glass correctly and then not put them back in the aluminum frames (since they didn't have the glaze gaskets to install them properly) I would've been fine with that as well, but they couldn't do that either because they needed the silicone to cover up their mistakes. I won't be coming back.
Cooper’s Glass is an excellent business. Very professional and they did great work installing all of our windows. Very personable staff as well. They even helped with an issue unrelated to their contracted work. I would recommend this business to anyone who has any window or glass needs.
