I put a great deal of thought into this rating. My experience has been challenging throughout, though I would say the product itself I would rate a 5 (so far). The 1st salesperson talked on & on & didn't respect my 90 min meeting deadline that I told him when he arrived. The scheduler told me the meeting would be 60 min. The sales guy wanted to extend the meeting so he could go over pricing, but I had a hard stop. He said he'd email me the pricing. 2 weeks went by & nothing. In the meantime, I received another mail piece offering a $50 Amazon gift card just for getting a quote. So I contacted them again explaining my 1st experience & they sent his supervisor. He was great, direct & respected our meeting time. I made the purchase for 60% of the windows & patio door in my home (no small purchase I can assure you). I was contacted for my installation & still hadn't gotten my gift card via email. The supervisor got this done for me before my 1st installation appointment. 1st you ask, yes because it was cancelled due to problems at the appointment before me. Ok, as I certainly didn't want the install to be done in the dark! They did agree to reimburse me for my dog's daycare cost as she only went because of the planned installation. To avoid issues, the next installation appointment (#2) was 1st thing in the am. As I was driving my dog to daycare I received a call, Universal was canceling for a 2nd time as 1 of the crew members was sick. I asked for a $500 adjustment for these 2 cancellations, which I was told we'd have to wait to see how the actual installation went! The 3rd installation appointment was successful with 1 exception. The crew of 2 worked seamlessly. They left black stuff on my new patio cement step which I couldn't sweep or shovel off. Universal sent the crew back and they scraped my step with a knife to get the black stuff off, so this has been resolved. Unfortunately, the Universal manager wouldn't agree to a $500 reduction for 2 cancellations. Didn't care how I had wasted time waiting & rearranging my life for 3 appointments. Would only provide an additional $300, which I was told was a big exception! Consider my total experience as you're looking at new windows/patio door. I hope no one else ever has a similar experience!

I am pleased to share my positive experience with the recent window purchase and installation. The quality of the new windows has significantly enhanced the comfort and appearance of my home. While the installation process was executed with great skill and efficiency, there were moments when communication could have been more consistent. Despite these minor instances, the overall outcome of the project has been very satisfactory. I am delighted with the final result and the improved functionality the new windows provide.

Horrible installation work, windows are very drafty and causing mold mold on the windowsill nearly 4 months after installation. Management says they’ll have to charge us to replace the windowsill and trim that is ruined. The reason we spent 10k on brand new windows was because our old ones caused this issue after 10 years. Why brand new windows are causing mold and horribly insulated right after install leads me to believe that the product is trash and so is the company. Manager Tyler takes a long time to even address the issues and now wants to charge us after the windows don’t even work. Should have stuck with my old ones and replaced the wood ourselves. Waste of time and money and will cause more problems then you even had before. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Edit: after speaking to customer service about my issue instead of the operations manager, I was finally able to get somewhere with fixing this issue. They had two installation techs come out the next day and they worked very hard to make sure this issue was taken care of. They took the trim apart and basically insulated the windows correctly, and replaced the trim with another material that seems to really be helping so far. No more leaking into the windowsills and no mold has grown like it did before almost instantly. Very satisfied with how they’ve taken care of this! I’m very grateful for the two technicians that worked for hours to make sure the windows are sealed properly.

I have to say my experience with Universal was top notch. Miguel and Mike my Installers were punctual, very polite, thorough, n very professional. They answered all my questions n kept the work space neat n tidy. The job theu did was definitely above and beyond my expectations. Thank you Miguel and Mike!!

My house was built in 1890. I knew I would have some challenging big windows to replace. Not only did the Windows turn out fantastic but when an issue arose with one of the windows, rather than just try to make the one that was customized for the spot fit, they remeasured it and are remaking the window and bringing it back. That may sound like they didn’t measure it upright, the first time. However, if you saw the way my windows need to fit in my house you would be amazed that only one did not fit! I appreciate that they are taking care of it the way it should be done! Well done guys!!
