My parents have an older home; and at an unknown time in the past, they replaced the original windows with Champion Replacement Windows. Now (14) years later, one of the dual-pane windows exhibited marks/ghosting between the panes.Suspecting ‘seal failure’, I located the original paperwork (i.e. the invoice, warranty, contract, etc.) and searched online for Champion contact information. I found their website which is clearly ‘sales oriented’; but also competing an online Service Request form is required for warranty service. The form is short and uncomplicated; primarily confirming you are a legitimate customer and original owner. The warranty applies to the original purchaser… and is transferable to a subsequent owner (subject to conditions). As the original owners, we easily satisfied the requirements with a minimum of exchanges… (simplifying the process for both customer and Champion). Being neurotic about ‘customer service’, I meant to soon follow-up submission with a call, ensuring the request/information was received. Not necessary. On the next business-day (after a weekend), I received an acknowledgment the warranty request… and materials ordered. They estimated a timeframe of 60-90 days.Having other things to do, I waited to hear from Champion. In the meantime, I noticed a Reddit discussion asserting Champion is not ‘accredited’ by the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I braced for a ‘runaround’/negative experience.Fortunately ‘puckering-up’ was unnecessary… (30)-days after my claim/request, ‘Sierra’ saying the replacement window was ready and shipped to the nearest Champion office. Our residence is ~40 miles from that office so a fee would apply. They were accommodating of our situation. ‘Sierra’ was professional, cheerful, pleasant to work with… as was ‘Phil’ locally. The entire process was very positive; and nothing like the adverse descriptions/reviews found on the BBB website. I simply did not experience anything resembling it. (Although consider the BBB requires an annual fee to be ‘accredited’.)Our experience was possibly favorable because we used the resources available (e.g. the Service Request form) and followed Champion’s directions. We accepted their estimated timeframe at ‘face-value’ (resisted badgering phone calls). We extended the ‘benefit-of-the-doubt’, assuming Champion honors its warranty and everyone works hard. Our experience has been exceptionally good; and I feel some obligation to acknowledge it. Very good. Thank you.
Champion Windows was one of the hardest companies to work with. In many attempts of getting ahold of the company to fix my 2 windows I was getting replaced it took almost an entire year! All that was needed was 1 piece to complete the project and to patch up a hole that was made while reinstalling my new windows. When I would call in to get status rarely did anyone answer. Whenever I would get to talk someone the status was always the same they ordered in the wrong size. Finally when I said I would take legal action they got the right piece in. On top of that the photo below is how they patched up the hole. I'm not normally one to give a bad review but just wanted to make you all aware before you could experience the same thing.
Our door was delayed because the door broke in transit. I had paid the day of install payment But then it was canceled and they did not refund that money so I sat there having paid 90% for a door that I had not yet received or even if I was going to get it . I did not get a good reply from customer service or any reply at all about the money. From order to installation, it was almost 6 months which is way longer than we expected. The installation job itself turned out not as expected because the person who measured the door measured the wrong height, and our door was too small by two inches so they filled it in with white frame fillers, and it looks kind of icky. But after six months, what am I gonna do? I need a door.Would not recommend if you are looking for a company with speedy excellent service and communication. It was a however a budget friendly option. So 2 stars
We purchased windows and a sliding glass door about 10 or 11 months ago. The quality of the door and windows seems to be good. The installation has yet to be seen. Four days ago we had a thunderstorm with high winds and the sliding glass door started leaking water from above the frame through the interior caulking. I put in a service request and they haven’t even contacted me. I went ahead and looked into the problem myself and found that the installer hadn’t caulked the door header. Now I’m wondering if the windows were installed correctly. It seems that once they have your money they just ignore any warranty request. I would look elsewhere for windows and doors.
Updated 12/12/23 Met with Chris in October. He was very thorough and answered all my questions. Excited to work with this company. He made me feel heard and valued. Would definitely recommend getting a quote for your windows. They are very high quality and a comparable price.Had our windows installed yesterday. Very happy with installation. Seth and Victor were very good to work with and did a great job installing them. We will definitely use again in the future for other windows in our home.
