I had a very positive experience overall. The entire process was smooth, but what really stood out was the installation team. The installers were punctual, professional, and clearly very skilled at their work. They paid close attention to detail, worked efficiently, and left everything clean afterward. The windows look great, and I’m very satisfied with the results. I would gladly recommend them.
We had 12 windows and one back patio door replaced, and the entire experience was excellent from start to finish. From the initial quote to signing the contract and completing the installation, everything went smoothly. The team answered all of our questions clearly and promptly. The installers were professional, respectful, and kept our home tidy at the end of each day. They were reasonably priced, and we didn’t come across any surprises at the end of the total cost. We couldn’t be happier with the results—no complaints at all, and we absolutely love our new windows!
I recently hired (February 2025) American Windows Specialist for a second time, having had a decent experience with them in the past. This job totaled over $7,000, and while the Milgard windows (retro fit) they use are great and the installation work was solid, the follow-up, communication, and overall customer service after the install left a lot to be desired.As part of the project, I was charged an additional $1,000 ($250 per window) to apply stucco around four windows where wooden framing had been removed. Despite charging for all four, they only applied stucco to three windows, since one window did not require this repair. Even more frustrating, it took them almost two months to come back and address a lower section of stucco on one of the windows that was left incomplete during the initial install. (see attached photo)To make matters worse, the stucco they did apply is a noticeably different texture than the rest of the home. My house has a smoother stucco finish, but the new work is rough and coarse, which creates an obvious and unattractive mismatch around the windows.I’ve made numerous calls and sent several text messages to request a refund for the window repair they never completed, but my attempts have been completely ignored. Since I couldn’t get any response, I was left with no option but to file a claim with Chase Bank in order to dispute the charge and recover the funds for the work they didn’t perform. Keep in mind, I had to keep following up and requesting assistance with the situation.This has been a disappointing experience—especially as a repeat customer. My wife is a real estate agent who had previously recommended this company to her clients, but due to the lack of accountability and poor handling of this situation, she will no longer be referring them.Buyers, be cautious: while the windows and installation may be good, the inconsistent follow-through, poor finishing quality, and complete lack of customer service make this a risky choice for your home improvement needs, also, they don’t paint after they finish and that will be something else you will have to take care of.To be fair, after a few hours after this review, the sales consultant reached out and rectified the refund issue. Keep in mind there was no mention of the mismatched stucco or the delay.
