I recently had four exterior doors installed. We were very specific on the style of door we wanted and they did a good job of finding that door when other vendors could not. The price was good and the install went well. We had a issue with the backdoor handle and they were very accommodating when we wanted it replaced with a different one after it was installed.
We stopped having any good interactions with Frontier once installation started. A basement window was installed into a rotten jamb--something that was pointed out when they came out to quote, and I raised with the installers twice. My husband needed to get involved and demand the wood be replaced because it was crumbling and the window be reinstalled--at a cost of $300 because "they didn't factor the cost of wood into the quote."The installers forgot the invoice and card machine, so an invoice was emailed to me at 9:04 am the next day, while I was working. Before noon, I received a voicemail asking if I received it and asking for payment. Before 4 pm, I received a second voicemail, which was very snarky asking why I had not paid their invoice yet. Again, all during my workday. At 7:20 AM the next day, the owner called me looking for payment. Not only is this generally considered ridiculous behaviour, the terms and conditions for payment on their invoice was 5 days, they had not even given me 24 hours to respond, during a work day, and they were hounding me for money.Fast forward 6 months, and we have 2 windows that won't lock, a window that leaks, and another that has blown as seal. My husband emailed them in the middle of January. No response. He called them 2 weeks later and was told to submit a work order online. He did that. No response. 2 weeks later he phones back, it's not there. So I submit the work order. No response. 2 weeks later my husband calls and is told it's in the queue. Still no response.End of March, we go in person to complain. The second we show up and say we have an issue, instead of being met with an apology we are verbally accosted by Zuzu, who really shouldn't have a customer service job since his attitude has been an issue from the start. "DO YOU HAVE ANY PROOF?" Is not exactly top drawer customer service. Luckily another senior staff member was there to intervene and personal saw to someone coming out in under a day to address our problems. But that was March 24. I still don't have a replacement window, nor have I had any responses from them. My energy audit requires their energy star specs to finish my Greener Homes grant and loan, and they have refused to respond, so I will once again need to drive into the city to get answers. We paid 30% more for our windows ($10k more than the next quote) becausewe thought we were getting better quality products and service, but all we got was headaches.
From start to finish the team at FVG is top rate. We walked into their showroom and immediately felt like part of the family! Once we got into the details of what our house needed, we were met with tremendous expertise and a variety of options to suit any budget. Transparency in quoting, accurate descriptions and timelines, and service that exceeds expectations. They are straight shooters, who OVER-deliver, a rarity these days. Their installers are personable, polite and professional - not to mention skilled beyond belief and able to adapt to whatever issue may arise. If you’re looking for quality LOCAL workmanship, look no further (and if you’re really lucky, you’ll get a free ball cap too!).
Frontier did a fantastic job on the replacement of our windows. (bedroom windows were also replaced-no pics) They took on a job that other window companies would not do because of the top large angled piece of glass. (see pics below) The installers were quick, professional and knowledgeable, answering all our questions. In the fall we will also go to them for the replacement of our doors. We highly recommend this company!
Purchased three basement windows from Frontier. Quick turnaround time, great price and quality. Excellent quality control right down to the final inspection before pickup. Would highly recommend Frontier!
