I replaced all my windows and sliders with Simonton $$$$ windows thru Home Depot. I noticed that there was a puncture inside the seal between the two pieces of insulated glass on a slider. HD sales person said to take it up with Simonton in September 2022. I filed an online claim since this is a factory defect which the people installing should have caught. Weeks went by and I finally heard from someone requesting more info which I provided. Weeks (Month) later they told me they ordered a part number. 3 months have gone by and I still have not received any info as when or where this “part” will arrive. Four months have gone by and I have no idea where this thing is at. I would NEVER recommend buying Simonton windows. They have absolutely no warranty and are a nightmare to deal with. UPDATE: it is now 11/23 and these issues still have not been fixed. 2026, they fixed one slider side and noticed that most all slider windows have the same issue. Said they would take care of it. Still waiting…
We bought Simonton windows because they were recommended by the window company. Our two requirements were to provide more glass and be energy efficient. They also had a lifetime guarantee and a satisfaction guarantee. We bought a level up so that we could increase the efficiency. What we got were 19 windows that were much less glass and don't work. When the windows began to be installed the installer said the quality of the windows had gone way down, perhaps because of Covid. We asked our contractor and the window company to stop installing and correct what was broken and incorrect, a window and a glass sliding door that were OPAQUE. The company has delayed at least 8 months our requests for help we have had half installed windows in a house where we care for our two elderly mothers. They have called us back once and they had no clue what we wanted or even that they had already been in the house. Two separate Simonton representatives from two different window companies came and looked at the windows and their immediate reactions were, "You should have gotten Daylight Max." When we told them that is what was installed they were shocked. The problem seems to be that casement windows being not only more expensive, also give less glass, something neither the sales people know, nor is it pictured in their catalogue. They blamed the installer for windows that didn't work but when several people checked they were installed correctly.Numerous times representatives from Simonton have been contacted by our contractor and delayed responding. Also numerous times they have come to see the windows and measure for new ones. Finally after 8 months of waiting we said that before we even talked about other windows we wanted the ones that were opaque replaced. The ones that don’t open and shut properly and have screens that are not able to be removed, thus making it impossible to wash the windows from the inside are still in this unusable state. Now Simonton will replace and fix all the windows, AT FULL COST TO US.At one point they said there was "forgiveness money". But no one not even our contractor has been able to find out what this is.When they say satisfaction guaranteed it is a flat out lie. When they says there is a warranty. That is a lie. These windows don’t work. Save your money and use plastic film instead. I wouldn't use these windows or this company to replace windows on a 50 year old trailer. They would only diminish the value. I wouldn't let this company care for anything. They continue to blame the window seller and us.
Had my windows replaced and after the first rain in noticed water coming inside the windows. I called the manufacture and was told that’s how they are designed their windows. I’ve had several homes and have never seen that before. One of the screens rattles all the time and had to be replaced, and of course I’m still waiting for that. On the screen door the wheels couldn’t be adjusted. The only saving grace was the contractor doing the job was great! Do your self a favor and don’t use these windows and doors.
I'd recommend against Simonton Windows due to the warranty experience. My picture window in my living room suddenly shattered. I phoned the installer and they coordinated a warranty claim. Two months pass and I get a call from someone at Simonton with an ask to call back. I've spend the past three weeks leaving messages without so much as message returned. I had to phone the original installer to get the warranty contact to respond (to them, not to me). I now have a date, but absolute nothing from Simonton. I'd recommend going with a company that values customer interactions as much as standing behind their product.
I ordered the daylight max windows that boast that they have slim frames well they came in and the frames are not slim in fact they are wider than any of my retrofit windows and these are supposed to be new construction windows which should have a slim frame they are ridiculously huge frames I was super disappointed in the windows!
