I paid Mr. Ramirez $2500 up front to purchase bricks for my walkway. I had to wait months for the bricks to be restocked. The bricks that Mr. Ramirez showed me were not the bricks that he used on my project. Instead, he used cracked bricks from Home Depot. The bricks were of such poor quality (damaged) that he had to replace many of the bricks. It bothered me that Mr. Ramirez did not honor his word and produce a receipt for the bricks purchased. Lesson Learned.Updated Review (April 20, 2026)I am leaving a follow-up review (with photos) regarding Mr. Ramirez’s poor work quality (I left a previous review last November). As the Fall set in last year, my bricks started to turn white. I called Mr. Ramirez about this issue repeatedly and he stated that it was the mortar used and that he needed to replace the mortar. Mr. Ramirez cannot be trusted. I paid him $6K (total) and this is what my stairs look like. Given the fact that he lacks integrity, I asked for my money back. He has refused to respond to my calls. Now, I will have to take him to DC Small Claims Court to get my money back. Honestly, I don’t think Mr. Ramirez respects Black women. While he was working on my stairs, I brought him, his colleague, and his mother AND father hearty lunches—for several days. And this is how I am treated! I will receive JUSTICE in Court. Excellent work on our brick sidewalk and patio Javier matched the new bricks to the old original bricks - the repairs blend in so well even are neighbors thought we had replaced the sidewalk and patio with all new bricks. We are definitely happy with his work
Javier repointed all of the joints on my front stoop landing and stairs, including the edging between the stoop and the porch. He did an excellent job. The repointing and clean-up were complete in every detail. In addition, he was the lowest bidder.
Javier and his crew did an excellent job on our large brick chimney that had not been repaired since the 50s. It had a subtle leak that was causing unsightly mold to grow on the inside. They did the top part in 2019 (as the lowest bidders), and it didn't fully resolve the problem. He suggested then that we call him back to do the rest. We got the bottom part repointed-repaired in early 2024, and he gave us a returning customer discount. His crew was here for 3 full days of work, replaced 12 bricks, and it looks excellent now. His crew does high-quality work for a very reasonable price (they again came under the lowest bid we received from other companies). We are very happy with the work they did on this large job, and would whole-heartedly recommend them to future customers.
Contacted Ramirez on a Friday to request a quote for brick mortar repointing and wall mortar repair. Came out same day to view requested work and, within a few hours, provided a quote (accepted) and scheduled work for the subsequent Monday. Arrived on schedule with multiple craftsmen and within a few hours completed the work. We were quite impressed by the attention to detail and work quality. Wife described the finished job as, "fabulous!" and I agree. Very satisfied!
