2026.05.20 UpdatedUpdate. The male owner called, stating he needed to come look at our patio. I explained that the work was completed and that the wife/owner Lisa didn't provide an estimated date/time when someone could come or call me to schedule.I explained the spalling, the two separate trucks of concrete on different days, and that extra water may have been mixed in one batch. I asked for a rough estimate of when someone could come, not that we're busy and'll get to it when we get to it.His Response: "to be honest customer service is not high on our list."I restated that all I needed to know was when you would come out since is took 1.5 years to look at the bad cut line, and I was nervous/anxious the same would occur this go around. The conversation concluded with him saying "well I am sorry it had to come to this."2026 Updates:?? Caution: My Experience with Innovative Construction ConceptsI genuinely don’t like writing negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience so others can make informed decisions.Initial InstallationOctober 23, 2023Installed an ~800 sq. ft. hardscape patio. The work initially appeared beautiful. Due to the size of the project, my dogs and I left the home for about a week during installation. When I returned, I noticed the center line cut was not straight.Attempts to ResolveNovember 2023 – April 2025I made multiple calls. The original installer had left the company and said he would follow up before retiring in December 2023—but he never did.April 2025After continued outreach, the male owner stopped by and offered a $750 adjustment. I accepted this rather than pursuing a full tear-out, as I didn’t want to waste materials unnecessarily.New Issue: Surface FailureMay 4, 2026I discovered the top layer of the patio was peeling (spalling). From what I’ve since learned, this should not happen on a 2.5-year-old hardscape.I spoke with Lisa (owner), who agreed this shouldn’t be happening. She said someone would come out “when they have time,” but did not provide a schedule or follow-up.Lack of CommunicationMay 5 – May 14, 2026I have:Called multiple timesLeft messagesSent emailsNo responses.I even reached out to the retired installer to try to get contact information for the male owner. Unfortunately, I’ve had no success getting a response or a clear path forward.Current SituationI’ve had another contractor evaluate the patio.Estimated repair cost: $3,500They noted issues consistent with improper sealing (possibly only one coat applied)I still cannot obtain the original color information from Innovative Construction Concepts, which is needed for matching repairs (it was not included on my invoice)Bottom LineAll I was asking for:A scheduled inspectionA clear planCommunicationUnfortunately, I’ve received none of that.I will keep you all posted on the new contractor AND maybe just maybe after seeing this, the contractor will do right by us.(I found 4 areas like this for now!) I understand that resealing periodically is necessary - so I get that would be my cost, but the damage should be looked at - SEE LAST PHOTONO, I didn't put salt on or drop any chemicals! I know how to maintain hardscape2025 UPDATE: The owner made it right a 1.5 yrs later. The main line still there - he offered to take a section out but I don't like throwing away good materials in a land fill AND, I get it's a line. It is a beautiful space, lovely work, and sometimes imperfections like this one introduced to me to the kindest most honest owner. Rural VA people are definitely my people. I would hire this company again just based on the owner@Original Review: Easy process to design, hire, and pay! But very disappointed as the main cut in the concrete is not straight. It’s obvious and no one has returned my calls-emails about it. For a 15k job I expect straight cuts and a small refund for the poor work.
These people jack hammered out a front porch decking which had sunk. Not a wallhanging inside moved! And the outer brickwork stayed intact. The new concrete decking is perfect. Easy to work with. I highly recommend them
