Excellent service and thorough work by Mike O'Shell and his team on my home's retuckpointing and foundation repair. The quality exceeded my expectations and ensured my home will endure years to come. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone thinking of updating brick work on their property.
We were in need of some repair around our pool. We contacted Mike's Masonry on the advise of our local pool supply business and we were not disappointed. Mike, the owner, arrived on time for the estimate. He explained to work that needed to be performed and gave us a quote. Mike and his team arrived at the agreed upon date and time and five hours later the job was complete. The workers were professional, cleaned up after they were done and respectful of our property. We are extremely pleased with the outcome of the work and will definitely use Mike's for our next concrete projects and recommend their services.
HORRIABLE SERVICE!!! HORRIABLE WORK MANSHIP! OWNER IS VERY MEAN, RUDE, AND UNPROFESSIONAL!1. Cement crew removed my gate but when reinstalled was not done correct causing gate to not shut right. So, I had to spend a couple hours correcting their sloppy work.2. Gutter that was removed by the concrete crew was reinstalled wrong resulted in damaged to the drain pipe, and now pipe does not drain properly. Now I have to pay a company to install a new cutter at about $200.00. See picture3. Joints installed were NOT done properly. The 3rd day on the job, mike cut the joints with a saw after the cement was DRY. This is not proper method! According to the American concrete institute, cement joints are to be installed/cut while cement is still WET at ¼ the thickness of the slab. See picture4. No greeting, no good morning, no hello from the owner Mike. No thank you for my business. I even said good morning to mike and mike looked down at the ground and said nothing!5. Owner, Mike, had no intentions of compacting the gravel base in accordance to American Concrete Institute. After I gave push back and remained firm this needs to be done. But mike ungenerously complied. See picture6. There were some concerns and questions I had about the prefabrication and prep work done. Mike became very defensive and very rude towards me often interrupting me with, now you listen here! I been pouring cement for 50 years! If you got a problem then I will refund your money and you can get someone else to do the work! I remained calm and just told Mike I am just asking questions and just want to ensure the job is done correct. Mike continued to be defensive with me and rude. Later I called mike about the option of a refund of all my money as mike had offered in a previous conversation. But again Mike became very defensive saying, “ I knew you would be a problem. I knew it! Then proceeded to tell me about some previous conversation we had. I asked Mike, well if you believe that I would be a problem then why did you take the job? Mike had no reply other than to continue to berate me and was very rude. Again, I remained calm and told mike I am just looking at my options as you offered a refund. But Mike changed his story and told me there would be only a small refund. Later in the day I called Mike and told him to continue with the job. I did take some pictures and sent to mike as a text with some questions for clarification. No reply from Mike. I had called Mike and left a message. Mike blocked my number and never returned my calls7. Sections of the cement work are lower than other sections such as there is a red line where the cement is to be filled but was not filled properly. See picture8. Sloppy estimate resulted in an over charge of $96.00. I brought this the owners attention that he over charged me for work that is not going to perform. Mike leaned over towards me, threw out his arms, then leaned back with his eyes very wide open, and in an aggressive tone stated, IT’S AN ESTIMATE! YOU WANT ME TO PUT IN THAT CEMEMENT! I WILL DO IT AND YOUR GATE WON’T SHUT! YOU WANT YOUR GATE TO SHUT OR NOT SHUT!!!! The owners very aggressive tone and manners caused my PTSD medical condition to rise to a very high level as he continued to repeat him self, It's an estimate over and over again. No apology for his sloppy estimate.9. The crew Left cement on my side garage door. I can’t get the cement off! See picture10. The curb I requested to be part of the cement install is completely horrible! I gave to the owner very clear instructions of a curb I wanted to look just like the one on my street. I got instead a curb with different shapes and parts of the curb is very noticeable higher than another section of the curb! See pictures11. The workers put cement on a wood block and now is stuck to the side of the driveway and not able to remove the wood block!!!!!! See picture12. There is excessive over spill of cement on the side of the curb. See PictureMike consistently proved himself to be a very angry man that does horrible work! Do not use!
Vast knowledge of concrete and masonry skills . They do great work fair prices and right on time .
We had a plumbing issue and requested they remove brick to create access to the pipes. Mike and sons came out promptly and completed per our request. Once plumbing was completed they were back out to repair the brick. We are very pleased with their work and will recommend them to everyone.
