Susan Whatford (Sue) on Rochester Masonry & Stamp

A very nice crew. They were prompt and efficient. They cleaned up when they were done, which is always a plus. One more small thing...none of them seemed to be smoking. I would highly recommend this business. They did a great hobby on my new garage floor.

I normally do not write reviews but I do not want to see anyone else wronged by this contractor. Also, beware that my review was deleted so the 4.8 star reading is not true. I am re-adding this again 4/25/26. This is very lengthy but please read to the end. I wish I would have read the negative Google reviews first before hiring him. From the start to finish the owner Louie was very unprofessional, dishonest, belittling, and did not follow through with issues when the job was done. We contracted to have a stamped front walkway, sidewalk, and patio. Louie told us everything we wanted to hear including lifting the back porch to clear the wood posts that support the patio lifting / expanding, lifting/expanding two downspouts that go into an underground line that had sunk, expansion foam, and landscape/seed. The demo started 8/15/25 to remove the existing concrete but he never called 811 as promised. The crew forgot to take out a portion of cement by the front flower box, left debris, tree branches, rocks, pieces of cement.and very sloppy with grading. My 85 year old neighbor stopped over and asked questions about the job. Louie screamed at him and asked if he was the foreman? Very embarrassing and inappropriate. I should have ended the contract at that time. On more than I can count on one hand, I experienced the same explosive behavior with screaming and raising his voice to me if I asked a question. The forms were put in but they did not lift the back patio or address the two downspouts. Louie says that he's going to pour concrete around the wood posts and bury the downspouts in concrete. Unfortunately, that was not what we agreed to when we spoke to Louie prior to signing the contract. He said he would lift the porch and set the posts when dry and lift or extend the gutter drain pipes. He never documented that in the contract and refused to do anything more. We ended up putting metal spikes under the wood posts to lift the porch and installed gutter extenders to cover up the drain pipe with our own time and expense. A week later, they came to put down the crusher stone. After they left, we noticed that the crusher stone did not meet the edges. There was exposed dirt and gaps between the forms. The crusher stone was no more than two to three inches and a bit short. Louie said crusher stone is fine. You will just get more concrete. It's okay to pour concrete over dirt or grass. ?? We were left with crusher stone for weeks and 2 no shows for the concrete pour. Louie says you have to work around his schedule and he will not commit to a day or time. (I find that very disrespectful to a homeowner.) He finally committed to September 8th. He comes over drops off the materials but and was going to pour but forgot about expansion foam. We addressed and the foam was installed. 9/8/25 we finally had the concrete poured and they immediately wanted to seal on the second day without waiting 30 days for the concrete to cure. As a result, the sealer bubbled up, they missed concreting towards several edges, unsealed exposed foam, crusher stone with missing concrete behind both gutter down spouts, damage to J channel on a door, marked up the front brick, concrete on the driveway, and a light stamp depth at both entry ways. The concrete was poured level to the door sills and flush to the siding in back. Louie said he would talk to his mason and get back to us. Also, he didn't recall anything about landscaping and seeding but agreed to drop off the materials that we did the landscaping ourselves. Weeks went by and never heard back from him. I sent a text to him 9/23/25 and he calls screaming at me once again saying the job is great you're picking everything apart. He basically had no intention of fixing issues. Louie repeatedly with this long journey said they were "professionals"  but apparently they are not and he refused to fix issues.

Martin Bontrager on Rochester Masonry & Stamp

Lou and his team did a large job for us, replacing several old retaining walls around the driveway and behind our house. Through the whole job they were professional, up-front, and communicated everything that was going one. The work looks great and was done with a lot of experience and care. Even when the weather didn't cooperate, we always knew what was happening. They really went above and beyond. I would highly recommend them for whatever work you need done

Frank Farsace on Rochester Masonry & Stamp

No issues from start to finish. Owner was very honest and was on site during demo through finish of job. My wife and I were extremely satisfied and I provided photos of job from start to finish. Don't look any further for masonry work. Hire Louis and his company I truly believe you will not be disappointed. Extremely satisfied.

Prompt, responsive, communicative. Owner got our project started early, even with 20 days of rain in May, the contract month.
Crew was meticulous, courteous, and friendly. Flexible to changing plans for the work being done. Even with some changing materials needs, the project was done in a timely fashion. Very pleased with results. Crew was sensitive to my needs and ideas and cared for my yard and driveway in the same way I do! Hard to come by these days. Hard work, and care.
Would recommend.
We had a concrete sidewalk torn out. Replaced with Cambridge paving stones. And had a garden wall installed. See before and after pics.
