Reviews commonly mention technicians who explain issues clearly and complete repairs efficiently, with several calling out helpful, knowledgeable service. Some customers report delays tied to warranty approvals, parts, and scheduling, and a few note communication gaps between the contractor and warranty companies. Timing and expectations appear better when parts are on hand and the visit is billed directly rather than through a third party.
Tim was excellent, efficient, knew a ton about wiring and quick to fix a few things in one stop!! I highly recommend him and City First!!
Do not use company! Had a house Warrenty claim and got denied do to technician not knowing his job! Simple job service switch melted was a 60amp service switch not fused! Tech told Warrenty company that it needed to be a 30amp switch that’s why it melted makes no sense 60amp switch was totally code and can be hire rated as long a breaker and water heater match . So tech did not know that and got my whole claim denied. Insurance claimed wrong service switch caused water heater to break lol. Turns out wire at breaker was lose and caused the over heat.they wanted $375 to upgrade my switch out of pocket. Cost me 30 dollars at Home Depot. Called manager multiple times and no call back! Don’t use them!
I was happy that my ceiling fan was replaced and covered by American Home Shield but it took several weeks to get the item and schedule the repair.
Oh my - avoid this company!!!They were assigned my claim by Fidelity Home Warranty and responded immediately - diagnosed the ceiling fan motor was dead and then the disappointment began. The communication between them and my home warranty was almost non- existent.I had to push for reports to be submitted and finally a month later they dispatched Angel to install the ceiling fan. Angel was decent but the fan didn’t have the 16 inch drop like the previous fan- all it needed was an extra rod that I could easily have purchased. The final installation is a fan on a sloped ceiling that’s crooked - the unit isn’t parallel to the floor. They blame it on the “junction box” and had the home warranty company try to upsell me on a $350 upgrade to change out my junction box. I’ve had a working fan there for 5 years - it’s not the junction box folks- it’s the fan…..I’ve now had to file a complaint with the CA Insurance Commissioner and will have to have this crooked fan uninstalled - I’m not sure who disappointed me more - this company or my home warranty was- jeez ….can you hear me roll my eyes? And as I scroll through other reviews, I see that City First Electric and Fidelity Home Warranty have a few complaints - I’m not the only one.
