Customer feedback often mentions attractive results after sanding and staining, as well as helpful guidance in choosing finish and sheen. Several reviewers highlight new stair installations and wood floor upgrades completed at reasonable cost. Some older reviews report concerns about follow-up and workmanship on certain projects, noting communication delays. Recent comments trend positive about timeliness and overall look of finished floors.

Nick was great to work with. He sanded our floor , helped us pick a new finish and sheen, and finished the floor in the allotted time. It is absolutely beautiful. Our painter was so impressed with Nick's work that he asked for his contact information so he could refer some of his clients to Nick. All around very happy.

I am so thrilled with my new floors and staircase. My old stairs were a trip hazard. Nick and his crew were amazing to install new oak treads and risers. They also installed a new oak floor at a very reasonable cost for me. I never thought it could happen for me. I am so appreciative of him and his crew. If you are looking for someone who is reliable, honest, hard working, does it with a smile, and at a great price... it is right here with this company. Thank you so much to Nick and your crew.

Nick and his crew were wonderful to work with. I hired them to remove all carpeting including stairs, remove all tile and replace with vinyl wood planks. The job included painting kitchen cabinets and counters, caulking and sealing window trim, performing some custom cabinetry work, installing new wood stairs, painting all upstairs including all window and door trim and bannisters, replacing doors installing new baseboards and installing canned lights. I had no issues. Nick was responsive, crew was friendly and professional. I took several bids including starting with Home Depot whose subcontractors walked out on the job because they didn't want to do sub-floor repairs and remove 2 layers of tile that previous owners had laid. Only Nick caught all the issues up front we were going to have to deal with so I knew up-front my cost vs the work not being done professionally or watching my cost increase with everything that could possibly come up. I would highly recommend!

Justin Lindholm on Good Ol' Boy Hardwood Floors

Nice guy who will tell you what you want to hear but buyer beware with this group and keep bidding out. We had a challenging floor, in a new house, that they bid out and committed to improving to a desirable and discussed level. He sat in our dining room and said that if we weren’t satisfied, he would come back and make it right. He ghosted us when we reminded him of this commitment and blamed it on the previous installer and denied any responsibility.

During the refinish, he discovered that the material used wasn’t what he expected and the project was more expensive and more work than he thought it would be. Then he forgot to do our upstairs hallway entirely. We were patient and understanding of this miss. We had the highest hopes that these floors were fixed and problems behind us.

Within days the floors were loose again, and within weeks the floors were in the same state as they were prior to his work. Now, winter time, and the floors are worse than they were before.

His employee that worked on our floor called us after and told us that he quit because of this install and how the owner had many instances of overcommittments or bad business interactions. This employee requested additional fasteners to make our floors a passable quality and the owner told him that he wouldn’t spend any more on the job.

If you have made it this far in the review, I can’t advise strongly enough to move past this company and this owner, very disappointing and I hope I can save someone else a bad experience.

Photos below are lost acrylic and splinters from this floor,

I have reached out to nick the owner several times with issues .... he responded finally 3 weeks later.. I hired them to refinish my hardwoods since we were doing a remodel and the color didn’t match . We also hired him to lay new hardwood in our laundry room and stain them also . The finish, cuts and joints are very poor, some are off by as much as 3/4 of an inch. Also when his crew was moving the fridge they couldn’t unhook the water lines, so they pulled it away from the wall to sand under (they didn’t stain under). And when they stretched the waterline it ripped internally and is leaking all over the floor when you use the door water . I reached out that night Nick said they would address it . It was never addressed . The floors are very warped now and look terrible . I have to buy a new fridge also!! Next , the floor had quarter round, it was great and the joints were perfect from the builder ! Nick said included in the price was to redo the quarter round, caulk and refinish . The joints are so far off it is at best subpar . The paint was hit and miss as well as the caulking . Some of the joints are off 1/2 inch . When Nick finally reached out ........

His response was
Chris,

The hardwoods already had water damage to the floor prior to refinishing your project. One reason why you had us out to estimate and refinish your floors to begin with was because of water damage to the floor. That just re-assures me that this was a prior issue you were having prior to the refinishing work being done and complete.

I also didn’t charge you to install or paint any quarter round and did that for free, so I’m not going to have the quarter round redone since I never charged you to begin with.

Keep in mind , I never had water damage all floors were flat , never spoke of water damage . The color and laundry room addition of flooring was the issue . Also “the quarter round was free” was his stance .... it looks bad but it was free ???

I will be reaching out to bbb, all review platforms , the court and the attorney general. Only because he has shifted the blame to me! I will be happy to remove and amend the review if Nick stands behind his work ...... I will attach a few pictures
