Flooring product sales and installation for carpet, hardwood, laminate, luxury vinyl, and tile; project measurement and estimates; residential and commercial solutions.
Customer feedback highlights solid workmanship and cleanliness on completed installations, with some praising friendly service and bathroom/tile results. Several reviews note delays in scheduling, limited communication, and challenges resolving order issues. A few customers mention weekday-only showroom availability as a constraint. Overall ratings reflect a mix of positive installation outcomes and concerns about responsiveness.
Service, friendliness, craftsmanship and cleanliness are all above and beyond all expectations. River Cities Floors is at the head of the pack; as far as selection, flooring and tile for a bathroom. If you need a complete bathroom remodeled or tile replaced, as in our case, there is no need to make but one phone call. Call River Cities Floors.
I chose this company because they installed the original tile in my home when it was first built. It took roughly 2 weeks for a rep to come out, measure and provide an estimate. There was no follow up to schedule an appt to pick out the type or style of tile. I initiated the call and asked for an appt. I picked out my tile and paid for the job in full that day. I thought it was reasonably priced and I needed the repair done to my master closet and a reno of my master bath floor. All the other companies charged me 4x more or never returned my calls, so I stuck it out. I wish I didn’t. They cashed my check mid-June. No follow ups, no emails, zero communication. I call after the 4th of July holiday asking the status. They stated only half the materials came in and it was delayed. I said, “ok, when were you going to call and tell me?” Their reply was, “I’m so sorry, we”re so busy.” It’s now August. I call with the intention of demanding my money back because, again, zero communication from time of payment to this point and they said, “oo! Let me put you in touch with Brian and he can get you scheduled” I was scheduled 2 weeks later. 1. They cut the tile inside my home. 2. They did not place the proper plastic sheets up to contain the dust. 3. They never wore shoe coverings so they tracked pieces of carpet, concrete, tile dust, etc., from my front door through my bedroom and bathroom. 3. They left large chunks of grout on my door frames (as if they grabbed the door frame to lift themselves up) which I now have to sand off. 4. I’m not sure what they did in my front lawn…rinsed themselves off or what, but What looked like white stucco was on a good chunk of the lawn 5. They spilled a large bucket of water onto my bedroom carpet. I now have to replace that bit. 6. When they put my toilet back, they broke it. There are now 5 hairline fractures in the base. 6. The grout isn’t even level. 7. They never tacked down the carpet that separates the bathroom and the bedroom. He told me he would come out on Monday. He didn’t show up until Wednesday. I can still feel the edge of the tile when I step on the threshold and my carpet isn’t fully tacked down. I won’t even discuss the BS job they did with the trim around the pre-existing base boards.I understand it’s post COVID and it’s incredibly difficult to find folks who are competent and respectful of others property and homes but this was a small job. This wasn’t demanding. It was less than 130sq ft. No one micromanaged the employees. We trusted this company with our hard earned money and this is the job they stand behind? Sorry, folks, but no. This is not the company to choose for your home renovations and projects.
I purchased a carpet pad with precise measurements to be cut 2 inches shorter on length and width so that the pad would be 1 inch shorter all the way around. The pad was cut almost a foot too short instead of 2 inches. Because I purchased the pad on a Friday and the business is closed on the weekends, I was unable to resolve the problem in person since I live 4 hours away. I called the business on the following Monday. The short version of trying to resolve their mistake was according to them that I must have given them the wrong measurement (although they even wrote the correct measurements on the invoice) and they would not be able to recut the pad until it was brought in and verified that they had cut it too short. My daughter drove the 4 hours back and took the carpet pad to them to verify their mistake. Of course they now did not have the pad in stock to cut it the correct size but offered to cut a strip and piece it together which was the reason I went to a carpet store and not a big box store so that it would be one piece and not two. A refund was requested, but because my daughter did not have my credit card the refund was not completed. In addition, they charged me 3 % to use the credit card in the first place. They have on the window in very small wording that credit cards are not accepted which I did not see so had to agree to the extra 3 % charge. My experience with this business was a total disappointment with unprofessional service.
I haven't been inside but they looked busy. Sigh on the front says they do commercial and residential. They offer free estimates.
My wife and I cannot take enough time out of our work day to pick floors during River Cities’ normal hours (8 - 5, M - F), and they are unwilling to make appointments outside those hours. As their designer told me on the phone, she doesn’t like to work evenings or weekends. She also said that they they focus on supplying to builders, not retail. Since our retail business isn’t worth her time, we’ll gladly take it to another supplier who is willing to accommodate our schedules. In fact, House of Carpets and Henson’s both have hours on Saturdays, and Stone Design makes appointments on Saturdays. Glad we have so many choices. Enjoy your weekend!
