I honestly don’t think five stars is enough for Percy John. The staff’s knowledge and genuine willingness to help truly stand out. Jacquie, Nav, and Pearl went above and beyond to make sure I found the exact shade I was looking for. Thank you Percy John team.

Percy John Flooring delivers a level of craftsmanship you just don’t see anymore. Every product feels intentionally designed, beautifully finished, and built to last. The quality is unmatched, and the style is truly unique. I’m beyond impressed. I love you, Percy John.

Bait & Switch: I couldn’t imagine a worse experience with a flooring company, and I’m writing this as a warning to others. Our designer recommended PJ Flooring, and after visiting their showroom multiple times and inspecting samples and full planks, we were confident in our choice. The first box of planks looked great—minimal colour variation and consistent quality.

When the rest of the flooring arrived, we gave clear instructions that any dark, knotted, or defective boards be used under cabinets or in hidden areas—not in visible spaces. The installers agreed, but when we came home, the worst planks—dark, heavily knotted, and inconsistent—had been installed in the most noticeable areas. Over 20 visibly defective planks were set aside plus another 15 defective all-white planks were brought inside our house, nothing like what we had seen in the showroom.

After halting the job, the owner, John, came to inspect and took photos but offered no real solution. The installers resumed work but ignored our instructions again, using the worst planks in the kitchen transition and the best ones under the future island. They also mismeasured a section, forcing an obvious 1.5-inch dark strip near our main windows. It looks completely amateur.

We’ve lost several days of progress, delayed other trades, and endured constant frustration. The owner has shown zero accountability. To make matters worse, when defective planks were replaced, they left visible gaps that now require ugly filler and don’t sit flat with the rest of the floor.

6th attempt at fixing their mistakes and now they appear to be purposely damaging our floor—new photos added. 1 plank was to be replaced and they ended up damaging 5 surrounding planks, exacerbating the problem!

In short: poor product, poor installation, and even worse customer service. Save yourself the time, money, and aggravation—go elsewhere.

I own a construction company and have used Percy John’s high end products on some of our projects. Never had an issue. However, on my personal house renovation I purchased some hardwood floor and in order to keep cost low my sales man suggested to use a 2mm thick wear layer. 2mm in many people’s opinion is the minimum thickness. Upon installation my installer realized the wear layer was nowhere near 2mm and was actually 1.2mm at its maximum. I immediately called pj and my salesman is no longer with the company, so they sent out one of the owners.

David is a Fast talking, over promising salesman. “Assured me” quality is their number 1 priority, blah blah… I explained to him when they sell something marketed as 2mm they should damn well provide mm or at least close to 2mm. I realize 10-15% variation is reasonable, but what I was sold is 60% of what was promised and in my opinion insufficient for high traffic areas. Had I known the company would cheat me 60% of what is marketed (1.2mm/2mm) I would have gladly paid for 3mm thick material.

Unhappy and will no longer be purchasing or referring this company to any of my clients. I’ll be sharing my experience with all the interior designers on my projects as well.

Great job PJ I will no longer be purchasing $30,000 - $45,000 orders from you

Update: Percy John arranged for an installer to touch up the nosing and address the creaky stairs. They agreed to follow up if there were further issues with the creaking. Overall, disappointed with how long this took to resolve but PJ eventually committed and completed the repair.
Installer dropped off the box of boards purchased a year earlier.

Do you want to ruin your new build experience or renovation? I'm tired of chasing down David Murcia after 2 years. Hopefully this review will make people think twice before buying their flooring from Percy John. Our stairs were botched from the start. The edges are coming apart and pretty much every step creaks. There are only 2 adults in the house with very light traffic on the stairs. The stairs in our new home (2 years old) are in need of repair and Percy John is not backing their product or the installer that was hired through Percy John. Photos of the cracked edges don't do it justice. They offered to touch up the cracking edges in February but the individual they sent didn't work on stairs. David claims he knows why the stairs are creaking but pointed out that I will not be satisfied with the repair he's suggesting. The stairs will need to be cut on the ends leaving a gap between the step and the wall. Three other installers, including the installer who installed the stairs, have examined the stairs and have provided different reasons for the creaking. In all three cases, the stairs would have to be removed and replaced.
By far the worst experience of our new build. Percy John is bordering on unethical so it's no surprise to find that the Percy John salesman who sold us the flooring gave Percy John a 5-star Google review. How many other 5-Star reviews have employees submitted? I paid for an extra box of boards in April 2019 and still haven't received it. This place is a joke! I've never felt compelled to write a review before but buyers should be made aware of this company's atrocious customer service. Anybody can sell product but the legitimate companies stand behind their product. You can't say you weren't warned. Would love to hear from 'the team at Percy John'.

Update to Retailer reply:
I will make arrangements with your office for delivery of the box of boards.
I appreciate that you're dodging responsibility for the install but for the credibility of this post, here is an excerpt of an email I received from your salesperson when we purchased the flooring.
'As per our last few conversations, I believe the consensus regarding install and stairs is to go ahead with our installers directly which I will gladly coordinate with your GC, Nick. This is another great way to save some big bucks, and I know you guys will be well pleased with their craftsmanship'.
Make no mistake, we used YOUR installer.
Yes, we are having issues with the edging which is your product. The creaking could be due to the nosing as well. No one can say for certain. There are 3 boards per step, very likely there is some movement between boards.
