Overall ratings reflect a blend of positive experiences and a share of service complaints.
After having initial issue with tiles cracking due to low spots on concrete floor, Jeff came to the house and set up replacement of flooring. I could not be happier with both his handling of our situation and the finished job. Also very impressed with the installation team. They were so considerate of my home, taking great care to cover my foyer flooring and entry outside. They did a fantastic job. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Jeff.
Worst company I've ever done business with ! After sending someone that was supposed to remove 2 layers of tile and replace my floor. After an hour, the guy walked off the job saying he didn't know how to do the job. I had to hire another company to finish the job !Store manager totally out of control. Screaming at me over the phone.I paid for half the job upfront. I still have not received even a partial refund or an explanation.I attempted to find the owner, Jeff Jechura, but couldn't find an physical address; email or telephone number for him. Tony Johnson, Co-Owner, I haven't heard a response from him either.I have photos. I will add later.
All I can do is praise the men who work for this company! I am thankful I met all of them. They were so patient and helpful. Kevin was super friendly and knowledgeable to work with! He loved on my pups and was very compassionate when I shared stories with him. Tony was very understanding and nice as well over the phone. I didn't catch all of the names of the guys who installed my floors, but Hank, the man can sing!!! So not only do you get great installation work, you get a free concert while he works!!! I absolutely loved and enjoyed it. I found myself sitting in the living room just so I could listen to him. The price on the floors was a fair and decent price. I will go back to them when I am ready to get my bedrooms renovated.
TWO YEAR UPDATE: Family Flooring refused to fix the issues. We had to hire Floors To Go to fix their mistakes. Another $800 out of our pockets to fix shotty craftsmanship. Horrible company.ONE YEAR UPDATE: Carpet is buckling in multiple locations. We found a 4 inch gash in the carpet that they attempted to hide and staple down as a suitable installation and now the gash has re-opened. I've called Tony and asked for repairs and it has been two weeks since he told me he would call me back. I'm ready to just call an actual skilled carpet installer to avoid having them make this job look any worse. I'd rather pay someone than accept their free warranty service.Job start June 28th. Still not complete Sept 5th.Kevin SOLD us on our carpet. He told us everything would be "perfect". "Our installers are the best around." He said 4 men would come out to do the job and it would be finished in 3 days. It'll be a "turn key" job he said. You won't have to worry about anything.Installers Brett and Cliff showed up to the job on day 1. It was SO incredibly poorly done with a HUGE mess left in our house that we called Kevin and complained immediately. Kevin reassured us it would be perfect. He asked that we let them finish the job and they will "fix any mistakes."Installers came back day 2. This time with a third guy. They ripped up bad installation from day 1 and started over only to install the carpet incorrectly a second time. AND they continued to install the remaining carpet improperly. The carpet was bubbled, too loose, too tight, had lumps, bumps, holes, and gaps. It was bad. Really, Really bad. They threw our old carpet out of my daughter's bedroom window. They did NOT put the screen back. They didn't lock the window. They also didn't properly close the window. So not only could the window have fallen out but my daughter could have fallen out the window. We called day 3 and told them not to come back. We asked for a full refund at which point Tony told us they would give us a refund but come and remove all the carpet they laid and leave us with plywood floors. Tony also thought the first two days of bad work looked "fine". Tony is the owner of the company along with Jeff.I hired another company to come look at the work without pointing out specifics and they found every mistake I found AND MORE.So they sent out another crew to fix everything from the first 2 days. At this point we are starting on week 2 of this job. Meanwhile I have not been able to work for 4-5 days. My home office was taken apart for this installation.Freeman and Aaron came and their work was WAY better. Aside from a few things here and there. Still not great. But SO much better. However, the stairs were not properly installed and there is a nest staples visible, loose and sticking out. Another hazard to my children.Freeman and Aaron worked for 2 more days but then were delayed because they had to order more carpet. Our living room and upstairs needed to be completely redone. They laid the living room carpet in the wrong direction with crooked seams. The upstairs hallway was pieced together with 6 small pieces of carpet.Week 3 and Freeman comes back. Freeman was very nice as well as Robbie. We chatted them up. Fed them. Gave them ice water. Made them feel at home.We moved furniture, we cleaned, they used my tools, they used our vacuums, they used my air compressor. All of which you would assume would be on every installers truck. They didn't even have a broom to clean messes. They even used my tape measures and accidentally took them home (since returned).I came home from work to find oil stains in my driveway, my front porch and driveway covered in carpet fibers, our welcome matt not put back, the outlet cover broken, a giant chunk of our wall was busted, portion of the stairs not finished, dresser not put away, shelving not put back, nails on the front porch, trash, cigarettes, carpet fibers, scrap carpet all over my yard and garage.I wish we hired someone else.
Terrible installation! Our builder used Family Family Flooring and we have had nothing but problem with the work done. Our shower tiling job was horrible! Huge slope on floor which made it feel as if we were going down a hill while showering, tile uneven and poorly placed in shower; but that’s not the worse! Our tile started coming off at the curb 6 months after move in and they were called back to fix it. They replaced the curb tiles and it started happening again. I called builder and he was going to replace the curb tile again. I told him the problem seemed to be bigger than that, but he just wrote me off. I decided to hire another contractor to come replace the shower, and as it turned out there was water going behind the walls, and I was starting to get mold behind tiles. Contractor said it was due to poor installation and the membrane under the floor tiles was damaged. I had to get out all tiles in shower and have it retiled. Something you would not expect to do in a house that’s less than two years old. Jeff is not responsive nor does he take responsibility for poor quality of his installers work.
