Great customer service .... and always ask for Donald

Kyle Billings

We were having a good experience with Rayo Flooring until this week. During the middle of our stair project, we changed flooring and contractors. No problem...Escondido Rayo and Donald worked with us to secure the new material. The project was completed this week on Monday after some delays and the holiday weekend. On Monday, I returned one unopened box of vinyl plank and was informed that my refund would be processed. I fully understood that I would be subject to a 20% restocking fee. I never received a call, so I phoned on Friday, only to learn that my return was denied. I'm now headed back to Rayo to pick up a box of perfectly good vinyl plank. This is not the way to build customer loyalty.

They have all the flooring needs: carpet, vinyl, wood flooring, tile. They have good prices. They also deliver if needed.

This review is for the Rayo store itself, not the flooring I purchased. So, I bought $8000+ of vinyl flooring and underlayment felt. Had a couple leftover unopened rolls of the underlayment felt. I also had four unopened boxes of flooring. They would not take them back even with a restocking fee. I highly recommend not buying from here. I learned my lesson. I will not buy from them again. Ridiculous that they won't take it back, especially the underlayment felt when I know they can just put it back on their in-store rack because that's where they have it - it's not special order in any way. I can kind of understand why they wouldn't take back the flooring itself because they have to order it from the manufacturer, but you know that they can send it back just as easy as they can order it. Even if they charge a restocking fee. It's just totally ridiculous. The guy there told me while it's on your receipt that you have to return it within 30 days. But why does that matter? It not like the product expires! Further, when I was purchasing all the materials, they made a big deal about make sure you order enough because you'll have a shipment fee if we have to order more. And then they won't take returns or make it so hard to return. Will not buy here again.
