Fair price, installed correctly and efficiently. Floor looks great years after installation.
Conquer floors did an excellent job in being prompt, communicating throughout the process, gave a reasonable quote and did an overall awesome job! Very happy with the outcome of my refinished hard wood floors. I have an older house and one room had a glue on the original pine hardwood that had to have been there for 50+ years. They had no problem removing and restoring to their original glory. Also were able to match the stain of the floors I had already had done (from years ago) pretty much exactly. Highly recommend.
Like many people, we have had terrible experiences with many contractors in the past; Conquer Floors is certainly the exception. Maynor, his son and team are amazing. We had to replace our engineered wood flooring in our condo due to previous water damage. Not having the budget/luxury to move out during the work, Maynor accommodated our schedule and even worked through 4th July weekend to get the floors done while we were on vacation. The workmanship is excellent and they do a very clean job. They also went above and beyond to do additional painting and trim work for us, on budget and on time. I would not hesitate to recommend Conquer floors to anyone. I wish I could find other contractors that exhibit the same level of customer service and quality.
I never write online reviews, but we had a great experience with this company. We are renovating the third floor of a townhouse in Jersey City built in the 1860s. Originally, the floor had 2 separate bedrooms separated in the middle by a closet. Each room had beautiful, original parquet floors, and each room had a unique parquet border around the perimeter. The renovation plan was to knock down the walls and make one large master suite, with a large bath and a walk-in closet. We very much wanted to retain the floors as part of the original character of the townhouse, but with the new layout, that was going to be difficult.Every contractor I spoke with told me I was going to have to cover up the original floors with something new. They told me there was no way to make the old parquet floor match the contour of the new, large room, and they told me it was simply not possible or cost effective to replicate the look and feel of the original parquet.I'm so glad I did not take their word for it.I called Conquer because I had seen their trucks in the neighborhood and thought he probably had experience with the floors in older townhomes. At the very least, they could give me a second opinion. It was the BEST call I made. Maynor made an appointment to come over a few days later. When he came over and examined the floors, it was clear he appreciated the original craftsmanship that went into the house, and knew exactly what we wanted. He explained how the parquet was originally installed in such a way that it could be removed, repositioned, and reinstalled to fit the contours of the new room. He also explained that the ornate borders could be removed and replaced to fit the new shape of the larger room and to look like it had been there for 100 years. He spent about an hour with us, showing us how they would do the job, removing some of the parquet to show us what was underneath, and what needed to be done. The bottom line is that he understood how important it was to us to preserve the original floors. When Maynor and his son, and their team, came to do the work, it was amazing to watch. It took them several days, but the final product is nothing short of spectacular. They worked with us to make sure we got exactly what we wanted - and they worked with our other contractors to accommodate their schedules. It's no wonder they are in high demand.Of all the contractors that have worked on our house, Conquer is at the top of the list for service and the high quality of the final product, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
If want floors that will come unglued after 2 weeks and be 6 inches lower than what your floors originally were than by all means hire this hack of a father and son team to redo your floors. To walk you through the process a guy will arrive at your home dressed like a bum with more piercings than you can count and call himself a "professional" but don't let that fool you because what little talent this "team" has the father is the brains behind this "operation." In short it was the sons first time running a project and he didn't know he was doing, nor did he know how to communicate with the customer about changes from the original scope of work. After I confronted them of their mistakes and shortfalls they owned up to part of the half ass job they did and re-floored an area that they considered completed. I'll admit there were unseen complications that arose in this job that any PROFESSIONAL would have spoken with their client to discuss. Instead they were just looking to make a quick buck. Basically the work area was not cleaned after demolition was completed and as a result the floors did not have a clean surface to adhere to. If you choose to use this company I wish you the best of luck. I'm not writing this to badmouth a company, but to warn consumers like myself of the lack of craftsmanship out there these days. And if you don't believe me I welcome you to come over and see first hand hand what half ass work looks like.
