Really bad experience. They left the whole wood in my dining room, approx 2400sq ft of wood in 3 huge pellets and not dispersed across multiple rooms as they should do. Under the dining room I have finished basement. The beams were breaking under the heaviness of the wood and my ceiling cracked. I had to hire and pay 4 handymen to move the wood across multiple rooms because it was too heavy and my ceiling was breaking. And now have to fix my ceiling because it cracked under the heavy wood. Reached out to SMI management, sent them pictures and emails/texts of damages and cracks in the ceiling, and they refused to pay for the damages. I paid $800 to move the wood around and I am yet to see the bill for fixing the ceiling.Be aware and do not buy from them! I have paid SMI $13000 for the wood I purchased from them. They do not care to do a job right, they have no respect for the customer.
I accidentally stumbled upon SMI in fairfield as I was searching for flooring for my home in the Catskills. I cannot say enough about the quality of the products as well as their excellent customer service. These days its very difficult to come across great people who care about what they do… Cristian went above and beyond. From placing my order to following through with delivery details.
