Experience has been meh. We were initially impressed with the sales experience. They helped pair items together and then told us that they would give us quotes right away. From there it has been a lot of over-promising and then under-delivery.

The initial quote was days later than he said it would be. We had one change after initial selection but before they purchased materials (2 weeks before install). They were able to hold the install dates, which we greatly appreciate, but he said that he would send me a revised invoice before the installation.

It has been nearly 2 months since install and I still don't have an accurate final invoice. Each attempt has had errors. I respond within 24 hours of receiving the email then it takes a week or two for him to respond. They address some of the comments but not all of them then the process repeats.

Installers were decent. Showed up on time, communicated well but a little sloppy. There were some some accumulated grout in the corners that the floors unlevel for trim. After they left, we caught one bubble in our LVP and reported it to our sales rep. He asked what our availability was to have the installer come fix it, I responded immediately and then I get no follow up. I've asked 3 or 4 times about it and I still don't have a scheduled date.

Another great experience working with Dean at Gary Johnson Floor Covering. We have worked with Dean for over 25 years to help us with our rentals. We recently had new carpet put in through out our own home and are so happy with it! Amazing people there!

Don’t get fooled by the price…you get what you pay for. The worst part was working with Anthony and then Anita (in the office). Long post…BLUF- multiple mistakes from estimate to install and a company that will resort to lying and fraudulent behavior instead of making a situation right for their customer.

I worked with Anthony to get flooring replaced in my house and have flooring installed in my rental after a flood. The amount of errors in communication and delays was astounding. Not to mention the estimated time for install was off on both accounts, so if you want to plan around it, don’t trust how long he says it will take. On top of which the stair installation for lvp was horrendous on both houses. Huge gaps between the tread and the riser and the tread and wall which weren’t sealed, treads that weren’t properly secured and came off when walked on, and mis-matched treads on different stairs that were used thinking I wouldn’t notice. Anthony also misquoted my rental unit which needed flooring throughout (literally had no floors when he was there for the estimate) and then called during install to ask if I wanted the lower level room added as it wasn’t originally included (as his mistake- I still had to pay for the additional cost of the room, although he says he “discounted” some stairs he also incorrectly estimated as well). In addition, there was no quality control and two types of flooring were installed in the unit, mixed together, which he didn’t check when material was picked up or after it was installed. The delay in fixing this issue (which was never 100% fixed and I still have mismatched flooring in the primary bedroom) cost me over $4,000 and he only offered a $200 credit (1.4%). It has been a nightmare dealing with this person and company.

I requested a discount as the error of the mismatched flooring caused a huge inconvenience and cost for me. Anthony stopped responding to me and then Anita took over- email after email of just spinning the situation about how this was my fault, they had already given me a “discount” (based on Anthony “discounting” labor from his first mistake which was never on an estimate), and how they were being “generous.” Then Anita sent an “updated” invoice showing additional charges, that weren’t on any previous estimate or invoice, saying they previously “discounted” them and threatened to remove the discount and make me pay more than was ever even quoted before. And then she outright started lying and said I didn’t want the lower level included initially (LIE- as there were literally no floors in the house when Anthony did the initial estimate) and that I asked for it to be added later (LIE - as Anthony was the one to call me during install to say he had left it out and if I wanted it done it would now cost more).

All I asked for was that they discount the final invoice after their SECOND major mistake of installing two different kinds of flooring throughout my house (the discount I asked for is only 7.2% of the total original invoice). LESS THAN 10%.

I had refrained from posting any negative reviews previously, but this has been the worst experience from beginning to end. I eventually gave up because I was dealing with truly shady and fraudulent people who would change invoices and lie to avoid taking responsibility for their mistakes. I understand that things happen in business and don’t always go well, but resorting to lying and falsifying estimates seems like the wrong way to handle things.

We had Gary Johnson replace the laminate floors in our home. I had the pleasure of speaking to Debbie for the initial estimate which ended up being substantially less than other estimates I've received in the area. She was extremely helpful in answering the many questions that I had and rescheduling the appointment when needed. We had Dima and his crew come out to do the actual work. He was incredibly professional and worked blazingly fast while still providing quality work. I genuinely couldn't find a fault after all was said and done. His crew made a great effort to clean up all of the debris and dust as well. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the floors and the cost and would definitely consider Gary Johnson for any future work.

We purchased flooring and carpet from Gary Johnson flooring and we couldn’t be more in love with the product. Robert was phenomenal and we couldn’t recommend this place enough. From the very start of our process to the very end Robert was very communicative and knowledgeable. Thank you so much to Dean and Robert, we are very thankful for such a great experience!
