I had a repairman come by today to evaluate my garage door. It was shaking and rattling a lot while in operation. And one of the cross beams came lose from all the vibration. The door is around 40 years old so I figured it had reached it's end and I was looking at a $2K+ bill for a new one.
The repairman took a quick look, then said there's a few missing bolts and the guide wheels are bent and shot. He had all the necessary parts with him and hour later he replaced all the damaged parts and added a couple bolts for additional support. Then he realigned a bent cross beam and re-bolted it. Previous to the repair, opening and closing the door sounded like an earthquake. After the repair, the door runs smooth as silk. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the cost: less than $200!!!!!

George, the technician, and Michael were prompt and professional. George showed me the spring that was the problem, and explained what he would do and my options. He and Michael completed the repair in what seemed like a very timely manner. George was friendly and very polite, and it was a pleasure working with him.
