Kathleen Milford on OGD Overhead Garage Door

Your technician Josh, came out to assess our situation. He was very polite and courteous. He asked us pertinent questions about what we would like and needed in a garage door. At first we only wanted to get an estimate for installing a motor, however he pointed out that the age, condition and weight of the current door was in need of repair so that it would probably need replacing in a few years. He worked up several estimates that we requested and then answered all of the questions we had about each choice. Josh was very knowledgeable about your products and we appreciate his patience and willingness to help us.

Personally, I was very disappointed. When I called to see if they could install a garage door opener I bought because I didn’t feel comfortable installing it myself, I was told they could do that. When I asked how much the installation would run, I was told that a technician would have to come and see the project. They did say that was free. So I set up an appointment and was hoping to hear good news.

On the day of the appointment, I was called by the technician at after I was texted that he was on the way, that he had to call and get my phone number because he was not given my address, which I gave the lady at, I’m guessing, a national call center. Well, with talking with the technician, and telling him what I needed, he said he had to call his manager because he didn’t think he could install an opener I had bought. Well, about 10 minutes later he called and said that they could not install a unit I bought because of warranty reasons.

Ok, so I asked him how much a comparable unit would cost to buy from then (they don’t sell the brand I bought) and install it. I was told about $1000-$1200. My jaw dropped!!!

The opener I bought only cost $279. I am sure that the cost of the opener was far less than what I paid retail for. So the cost to install the unit which might take a few hours was $700? That works out to $350 an hour!!!!

Think carefully and do your homework before using these folks.

On 2/7/26, I called for service due to my garage not closing all the way down. I tried to adjust the sensors and it would work at the time but I needed help. The tech did everything except what I initially called him out for (aline the sensors). After more than two the service was complete and I paid. I tried to let the door down and it still was not working so I had to stop the tech from leaving and have him fix it. I looked at the invoice and it was over $300 and I feel I was overcharged for a service I was not satisfied with. The tech complained about the prior vendor I had do work. I called the ODG office and was treated very rudely. I will never use this company again and I am also a veteran.

Tech new his job. Arrived on time. Explained how much it would cost. After he finished, he brought me to the repaired garage door and explained exactly what he did and further, gave me instructions on maintaining the garage door to avoid future repairs.

Responded quickly and quick to set up an appointment. Technician was knowledgeable and explained every issue and options offered to fix the issues. He also already had the parts on hand for a same day fix! Will definitely be calling again for future issues or installs.

Frequently Asked Questions

In many cases, technicians can complete repairs the same day, especially for common issues like springs, rollers, and openers. Availability depends on scheduling and parts needed, so calling early improves the chance of a same-day visit.

Technicians assess the opener on site and explain repair versus replacement options. If the unit is unsafe, obsolete, or not cost-effective to repair, they will provide estimates for suitable replacements.

Frequent calls include broken springs, frayed cables, off-track doors, sensor misalignment, noisy operation, and opener logic board or gear issues. The team also replaces worn rollers and adjusts balance for smoother, quieter operation.

An on-site evaluation is used to confirm the problem and outline options before work begins. Technicians review the scope and pricing with you and can provide multiple estimates when there are different repair or replacement paths.

Yes, the team services residential garage doors and many light commercial overhead doors. Availability for specific commercial models may vary based on parts and scheduling.
