I recently visited the KB Home Palm Court community as a potential buyer, hoping to find a place that felt like home. While I was initially drawn to the idea of a newer development and the KB Home brand, my experience walking through the community left me with more concerns than excitement.
First off, the cleanliness of the community was disappointing. The trash area was overflowing, with garbage visibly spilling out and bugs swarming around. It gave off an unkept, neglected vibe that made me question the level of ongoing maintenance and care in the neighborhood.
Parking was another issue. Spaces were extremely limited, with what seemed like almost every homeowner utilizing their garage as storage instead of parking their cars. This forces many residents and guests to park on the street, making the community feel cramped and cluttered. It also raises questions about long-term convenience and how that might affect daily life if I were to move in.
There’s also an overall impression that people are living out of their garages — garage doors left open, with furniture, workout equipment, and personal items fully on display. It didn’t feel private or polished, which is something I would expect from a newly built community.
While I can appreciate the design and layout of the model homes themselves, the community atmosphere and upkeep left a lot to be desired. As a first-time buyer, it’s important for me to feel confident not just in the home I’m purchasing, but in the surrounding environment — and unfortunately, Palm Court didn’t give me that sense of comfort or pride of ownership.
I hope the management takes steps to address these issues, because there’s potential here — but right now, it’s not quite living up to what buyers like myself are looking for

Extremely Disappointed First-Time Homebuyer at KB Home Palm Court, Anaheim

As a first-time homebuyer, I had high hopes and expectations when purchasing my home at KB Home Palm Court in Anaheim—but my experience has been overwhelmingly disappointing and stressful from the start.

One of the biggest issues is the complete lack of accountability from both KB Home and the HOA. There’s trash constantly left on the floors in the community and not properly placed inside the bins. When we report it to the HOA (which we are currently paying for), they push the issue back to the builder. The builder then tells us it’s not their problem. We’re stuck in a loop with no resolution. The HOA claims they won’t take over responsibility until construction is finished, which isn’t until the end of the year. So in the meantime, we’re paying for a service that doesn’t exist.

We’ve also experienced several unannounced water shut-offs—none of which were communicated to us during the homebuying process. In addition, our mail delivery has been a disaster. USPS claims the builder gave them incorrect information, while KB blames USPS. Again, we are left to deal with the fallout and confusion on our own.

During escrow, there was a major error with the ZIP code that wasn’t caught until the last day. This oversight made an already stressful process even worse and revealed just how disorganized everything was behind the scenes.

KB was in a rush to get us moved in, insisting the home was "move-in ready." Because of this urgency, we paid out of pocket to break our lease early—only to find the home and the surrounding community were absolutely not ready. The trash bins weren’t even in place. We had to escalate this to the city to get any action.

What’s most frustrating is that once the 30-day survey is completed, it feels like KB completely washes their hands of you. Any ongoing problems become your responsibility, and you’re left with no support or resolution.

I want to add, this review has nothing to do with the construction workers. They are incredibly helpful and kind and are the best representation of KB Homes.

The reason I’m sharing this review is to help others—especially first-time buyers—avoid going through what I did. These are things I never thought to ask about, and I’m learning the hard way that they matter a lot. The sales agent and customer service team at KB failed to disclose or even mention many of these issues. Looking back, I would’ve appreciated transparency and better guidance from people who are supposed to walk you through one of the biggest purchases of your life.

I would strongly caution any potential buyers to do your research and ask the hard questions. KB Home’s lack of communication, poor organization, and unwillingness to take responsibility have made what should have been an exciting milestone incredibly frustrating.

I’m specifically posting this on Google Reviews because when we asked a KB customer service representative how to contact their corporate office, they told us they didn’t have a number and suggested we "Google it" ourselves. That response was not only unprofessional—it reinforced the sense that once you’ve moved in, they no longer want to deal with you.
