I decided to wait a few months after moving into my new home before writing this review, so I could fairly evaluate the entire process from beginning to end.To start, my sales representative, Virginia, was outstanding. She was welcoming, helpful, and guided us through the early stages with great professionalism. Our original project manager, Nic, was also excellent, and the construction process began smoothly under his oversight.However, we were disappointed when our project manager was changed midway through the build. Although construction continued without major issues, the transition impacted our overall experience. Our new project manager, Brad, did not provide the same level of support, and at times it felt as though our concerns were met with excuses rather than solutions.One of the most significant frustrations was the nearly two-month delay in getting power connected to our home after construction was already complete. We were repeatedly told that the power company was backed up, but based on our experience with other on-your-lot builds, this timeline seemed unusually long and suggested that something may not have been handled promptly on the builder’s end.We closed and moved into our home in August 2025. During our walkthrough, I specifically asked if the heater had been tested and was told that it had been checked thoroughly. Unfortunately, when the colder weather arrived, the heater did not work at all. The HVAC company later confirmed that the system had never been tested and that a jumper needed to be removed for the heat to function properly.Despite these issues, I am still pleased with the home itself and glad that we chose Southern Homes. I have even referred friends and family who have since built with the company. However, I am still waiting for the referral gift card that was promised, as no one has followed up with me regarding it.Overall, I hope this honest feedback helps Southern Homes refine their communication and quality-control processes. They have the potential to provide a consistently excellent experience, and I believe improvements in these areas would make a significant difference for future homeowners.

The first time I stepped into a Southern Home model was with my realtor Kimberly who introduced me to Southern Homes.The first worker of Southern Homes I met was Virginia Edwards who I got introduced by my realtor. Virginia greeted me with a smile. Virginia talked to me about Southern Homes and what to expect if I decided to have a home build by them. Virginia was professional, friendly, transparent and familiar with everything.Virginia was very welcoming and made the whole process of building and picking the way I wanted my home build a breeze and enjoyable with no pressure or hurry. Thank you Virginia for making the beginning of the process family oriented.Once my house was ready to be built my builder Mark called me to meet for the first time to go over the whole building process. Mark made me feel like family from the beginning and was very honest and professional. Mark kept in touch every Friday and even went the extra mile to send me pictures of the house as it was being built.Once the house was finished, Mark did the final walk of the house. He made sure I was very happy with the house and the way it was built. His concern was me being happy with house and Mark made sure I knew everything about my house and that all my questions were answered. Mark made himself approachable from the beginning of the building process. I like that Mark was honest and transparent about the entire process. Mark understood my concerns and specially since this was my first home. Thank you Mark for everything you did, and you are part of my family always!I will be recommending Southern Homes to all my family friends and coworkers.
