Customer feedback is mixed. Positive notes mention on-time warranty walkthroughs, courteous communication, and timely scheduling for minor fit-and-finish items. Critical reviews cite issues such as plumbing or roof concerns, delays in response, and dissatisfaction with certain finishes or selections. Overall ratings suggest variable experiences depending on the community and home.
2nd review for JMC however this is for the 1 year “fit and finish warranty” and our experience with Robert Trevizo. Robert showed up on time, walked me through all my concerns and even gave me advice on how to maintain the quality of our home. We only have very minor/cosmetic repairs needed and he scheduled and followed through within a few weeks. Exactly what we expect from JMC, they are respectful, professional, and they build beautiful/quality homes!
Our roof leaked by the 3rd year of us living here in our new build!! We had a professional painter come paint the inside of the garage prior to the roof leak & When JMC came to repair our roof they told us we needed to repaint our garage and pay for the paint. We should not be having to pay to paint our garage due to the bad roof job on JMC’s part! Not only that, but we already have had plumbing issues within the first year of living here. The hot water in our upstairs bathroom, kitchen and downstairs bathroom does not work! Our Countertops were also installed incorrectly and there’s a crack in the counter. & when we told JMC they did not fix that either. We never will be buying a new build from JMC ever again! Stay away from this company if you can.
I would not recommend JMC for following reasons: the design center used, NHD, is outdated, multiple plumbing fixtures were installed incorrectly (brand new dishwasher errored out and water kept coming up, shower plumbing installed backwards), they have made it difficult for us to gain access to our mail (have not received mail in weeks because postal service states builders aren’t supposed to close on homes until they have enough buyers for mail service), rocks and trash were left in gutter, and they damaged brand new cabinets during installation. I had asked for a manager due to the poor workmanship of the property, but was denied.
I got water damage in my brand new house within one week of moving in which I brought to JMC’s attention and it took them two weeks to get back to me. The plumbing behind the shower was leaking water for 2+ weeks but because I had changed the shower head (with two fingers) they’re saying I “voided” my warranty and will not be repairing any of the water damage in my wall, base board and floor. I’ve been in my house for 1 1/2 months and I REGRET purchasing my very first house with JMC. Stay away!!!
For as much as I’ve paid for my home you would think something as simple as insulating in between the walls would not be too much to ask or at least certain walls. One of the bedrooms shares a wall with the kitchen and you can hear every noise from cupboards opening and closing to us putting away pots and pans. We didn’t notice this issue until we had a guest stay in it and shared it with us. How embarrassing for having a brand new home. How much time and money would it really have taken for some sort of noise buffer? Double paned windows are great for keeping outside noise to a minimum but the homeowners get screwed on the inside with the noise traveling through the walls. I am also not pleased with the aesthetic of our street. All the other streets have a balance with single story and 2 story homes but across from us they are completing the last phase and were more concerned about selling than keeping with the aesthetics of the neighborhood. We have 4 two story homes side by side blocking the view we did have with two single stories on the end. Our street is the only one with this issue. It looks like we live across from condo units now. Very sad and disappointment that JMC chose not to keep up better standards throughout the whole community.
