I’ve been overall pretty happy with Beazer despite the countless quality issues I’ve had to encounter and address, from the red tape walk-through all the way to 14 months later. I’ve dedicated countless man hours keeping up with and calling in issue after issue to have repaired. The mass production of these homes and the lowest bidding sub contractors Beazer hires creates a plethora of quality issues. Granted, Beazer has done a decent job of taking care of most of them, although sometimes only after some initial contractor jargon about that’s how it’s supposed to be.But this next situation just puts the icing on the cake.During the construction of my home, Beazer directed the electrical contractor to install the main supply line outside of the designated utility easements, running it straight through the middle of my usable yard. The contractor followed those directions and ran my supply line through my yard basically turning my entire back yard into a utility easement. My plat survey that Beazer provided me clearly shows the usable area in my back yard enough to put a pool in and come to find out that survey is erroneous because there is an electrical supply line running through it.This careless decision now prevents me from using my property as intended, I cannot proceed with my pool project without relocating the main electrical line. Because of this, my pool cost has now shot up by 5%, a very disappointing and unnecessary expense that should never have been my responsibility. When I raised this issue, both Beazer basically brushed it off as “not our problem.”That is unacceptable. A professional builder and licensed electrical contractor should know that permanent supply lines belong in easements, not through a homeowner’s yard where they permanently block normal improvements. Passing blame back and forth instead of taking accountability shows a lack of integrity and responsibility. If you’re considering a Beazer home, think twice. Their poor planning and refusal to take ownership of their mistakes will leave you with costly problems down the road. Unless you think of everything before you sign and close.
When Beazer Homes compromises their integrity and no longer cares about those they sell homes to, would you buy from them? By not upholding the HOA rules in Amira (the home builders are the HOA until one is formally set up when the neighborhood is established) they are outright saying they could care less! Knowing a commercial group home is going in and ignoring it is such a shame for all the residents!! They are responsible for upholding and enforcing the deed restrictions for the good of its residents and maintaining the integrity of the neighborhood. Beazer, SHAME ON YOU FOR NOT CARING ABOUT THE RESIDENTS!! ??
Beazer Homes offers a nice product with several floorplan options in Amira.
I was drawn to Amira due to a previous work experience on the land and, immediately, we recognized the value in this community. The layout is fantastic! I love the open spaces in the future and century old oak trees that adorn the landscape! We have been thoroughly impressed with Beazer's staff and the extra value their homes offer. This neighborhood is on the cusp of the rapidly expanding area and will prove to be a great investment and place to raise my kids. We cant wait to move in! Oh yea...the chocolate bunny was all I really needed to see!**editedThe sales staff and the mortgage process were great but the house, itself, is lacking in quality craftsmanship or craftsmanship at all. When we first moved in, we loved it, but after we got settled, the poor quality started showing. The baseboards were installed before the tile leaving large voids to fill with caulk that has now fallen through. Many of the holes cut in the sheet rock for outlets or switches were cut too large, leaving holes or cuts visible. My grout on the first floor flooring was 2 separate colors (they've stained it since and looks better now) My front door was installed completely out of square causing many things in the area to be out of whack. Floor tiles and pedestal sink installed crooked in 1/2 bath. If there was any supervision, on this build, it was lackluster, at best. Very disappointed in the construction of my house.
I am a Realtor and closed on a home constructed by Beazer last year. They were wonderful to work with as well as one of their affiliated lender. Beazer continues to be ahead of the rest of the builders out there. Job sites are pristine and organized and they are one of the best built homes available.
