We went to closing on our new home built by SummerPlace Homes at the end of December 2025. Our home is located in The Crossings at Pleasant Valley in the Northeast Vancouver Salmon Creek area. We have purchased 5 "new homes" over the years. This builder by far has been the best. What impressed us originally was the practical and functional floor plan. They have very functional stock floor plans. There were a few items that we inquired about wanting to modify in order to customize it to our needs and lifestyle. The builder and President, Shawn Macfarlane was very accommodating to our modification requests even though they were not their typical option alternates. None of our plan changes were denied and the change order pricing was always fair and reasonable. In our past experiences working with builders, making changes were not always accepted and one of the builders wouldn't allow any changes at all. Our experience, start to finish with SummerPlace was very positive. The Crossings development is closing out with one spec home ready to move in and two more vacant lots waiting for someone that wants to build a new home ground up and select colors, materials, lighting, plumbing fixtures and finishes. We would like to have you in our community as a neighbor. We highly recommend SummerPlace Homes.
We primarily were helped by Bill and he was nothing but awesome from start to finish. We were impressed from the start with the quality of the construction and are super pleased with every aspect of this purchase. SummerPlace Homes treats their customers extremely well and we couldn't be happier.
Three months ago my husband and I moved into our dream home built by SummerPlace Homes in a development called the Crossing in Vancouver. Every phase of the building process went smoothly, starting with the sales agent Bill DiRocco. He was great to work with and was the liaison between the builder and us to facilitate the changes we wanted made to the floorplan we chose. Although it was not a "custom" house build, there were sufficient varieties of floor plans, house colors inside and out, stone work etc. to choose from. The building of the home was on a schedule like a well-oiled machine. We had to be out of our old home on October 29th and although no promises were made, the crew worked like crazy to make it happen so that we were able to move from old home to new home the same day. Amazing! We cannot sing enough praises about the quality of the work and the attention to detail that was put into our home. The builder, Shawn McFarland, was always responsive to our questions. In fact, he did our New Home Orientation walkthrough, which took around 3 hours after closing to everything we need to know about this home. Matt and Mahlon were the project managers and they were and still are awesome to work with. More homes are being built on this development but those guys are always available for any questions or concerns we have. They have been a tremendous help to us. SummerPlace Homes has a great warranty for the home and we know that we can always trust them to follow through on any new home issues which can happen. We cannot be happier with this new home of ours. It's our forever home and we whole heartedly recommend SummerPlace Homes to anyone considering a home built by them. BTW, we don't do social media and give any reviews but felt this was the exception. Cheers and happy life!
We moved into our new home in October 2023. Very well built home. When we had any issues, the gentleman who is responsible for any warranty issues is quick to respond and correct. Pleased to report those issues have been minor. All the vendors that they have used and that we have gotten acquainted with are excellent. One more thing to mention is that the vendors that we have spoken to also praise the builder. I would think that's a very good sign.
This company definitely focuses more on quality vs. quantity when building these beautiful homes. Just walking through the model homes, you can tell that they care about every detail from top to bottom. It's hard to find a company that genuinely cares about what they do but this Family owned company doesn't disappoint. Amazing homes and a great team to work with for sure!
