I truly can't believe that this company is still in business.Putting the extraordinarily higher prices aside, these guys are crap!First off, they showed up without the needed materials. They actually forgot to bring a piece of plywood needed to mount a propane manifold to an interior wall, so instead of driving to the nearby Home Hardware, they simply scrounged around my basement and stole a sheet of material that I had set aside for a bag-toss game, then cut it in half without even asking me.They pulled insulation out in order to make runs for propane lines, but rather than simply replace the insulation they instead merely left it laying on the ground in about a half dozen places. The crew appear incompetent and mounted spigot covers in locations where they couldn't properly open, rather than simply using their brains and locating them ever so slightly up or down. They literally left ALL their trash right where they dropped it. My basement and surrounding yard were littered with little plastic bags and copper tubing cuttings. And speaking of dropping, one or more of these clowns used our washroom, where they somehow managed to leave a bit of their own droppings (if you know what I mean) atop the toilet seat, and also managed to smear some on a hand towel, which they then just tossed into the bathtub. Disgusting!During a lunch break, I spotted a few of them scoping out one of my shipping containers which I had converted into a workshop. They had absolutely no business being in there, other than to to covet my equipment. I don't trust that they didn't help themselves to an expensive item or two.A valve and burner for our outdoor fireplace had been promised and included in the quote. The burner was finally delivered a few months late, and left for ME to install. The valve however, never ever arrived.A few months after their installation, I caught Alex on my surveillance cameras. He was sneaking around the house and in my carport without notifying me. He returned a few weeks later when I was home, and asked if I'd found a small braising kit with a gas tank, torch and tools. I shook my head and chuckled in disbelief at how stupid and disorganized this bozo truly is.Of course I'd found his tank.....and I gave it away, to an actual gas fitter. But if all that wasn't bad enough......(and this is the IMPORTANT part of my review).... Alex charged me $400 to pull the permit for this work. A permit which is required by law and is absolutely necessary for insurance purposes. I requested my copy of the permit repeatedly for months following the installation of the new hot-water-on-demand and propane system, only to learn that he lied and had never actually applied for the needed permit. An inspector came to my house and pointed out several serious deficiencies with the work and suggested that I get them to return to correct the issues. I stated that I didn't want those fools back on my property and instead chose to correct the issues myself. The proper documentation was provided by the oversight inspector and other than this review, I have forever washed my hands of Response Heating and Air Conditioning.I strongly suggest that this company is avoided. They are much more expensive than their competitors, they promise much more than they actually provide and they do crap work.
Alex, Steve, and Dakota were very professional. I live in Princeton, BC and had contacted several contractors who either didn't return my call or did not service the Princeton area. Alex came by the very next day to give me an estimate and discussed the replacement of the aging furnace, and new installation of the air conditioner. I had an estimate in hand later that day and within a week, the furnace had been replaced, AC installed and the entire work area was left clean and tidy. Very impressed. I am also a tradesman and it was very refreshing to see that there are still good quality people applying their craft. I would not hesitate to utilize their services at a later date, and highly recommend Response to others. Excellent value for the money.
Alex and his crew have been outstanding. We had another company come to check our furnace andAC system, and they completely missed the extensive problems with the existing furnace. Alex was forthright and honest in his evaluation of our heating and cooling system. He also was able to replace both units within a short period of time, as promised. Furthermore, he ensured we had the proper documentation to send off for Fortis. We highly recommend Alex and his company RESPONSE HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING to anyone who requires service in either field.
My 91 year parents first wanted to replace their wood burning fireplace to a gas one. We met with Alex and he was amazing. Great personality and service. They then need a new furnace and AC. They got a couple estimates but it really was no contest. Alex was so helpful with any extra help with the fireplace that they went with Response for the Furnace. Again, amazing service as he made a couple extra trips out to their home to help them with changing the thermostat when the time changed and amazing warranty on service. We totally recommend Response Heating & Air Conditioning.
Alex and his crew did an excellent job installing my new furnace, from the estimate to the final clean up, they were prompt and professional! They did all the extras that came up during the install without any added cost. Accolades to Mike and Mel... M&M... you did a great job! Thanks!
