Caleb was super friendly, professional and efficient. Not pushy with sales or future service, but let me know if services available. Honest and reliable. Really appreciated the text when he was on his way with his picture and what the truck looks like and ability to track so you know an arrival time. Reassuring to know what truck and person to expect - makes a homeowner feel more at ease.
Service tech arrived within the time span stated to me when I scheduled the service call. Service Tech was excellent, informed me what he was doing/checking as he determined the issue with my furnace. Cost was reasonable and they were able to schedule my service call the same day and it was the day before Thanksgiving.
Edit: replying to the owner. There is no miscommunication or misunderstanding here. If there is any, it is on your end, not mine. I was there. The part cost you $300-$350 to purchase and the estimate to replace this 15 minute part was over $900. I know the actual cost because I sat there and listened while he was on the phone and asked him about it. That’s a pretty hefty markup. Also, my furnace has worked splendidly since I touched it, which is still more than your repair tech had done. It is not seized and will live many more functional years as the sole source of heat throughout the winter.Long review. I called meister. I thought they were a reputable and considerate company. My furnace wasn’t working and we were hoping to get ahead of the cold, and we had a clogged A-coil that needed cleaned. They came out promptly. The service tech removed the furnace panel and with his diagnostic nose determined our problem was a burned up inducer motor. He didn’t use a tool to test it. He told me he doesn’t need to — he already knows it’s bad. It’s a $300 motor. Would cost over $900 to install it. I asked him if it would be possible to clean my A-coil. He said it’s possible but he wasn’t interested in doing it. He was cussing frequently in my home. Had to send my curious kids away so they wouldn’t hear his obscenities. He tried to sell me a furnace through the company and when he saw my sticker shock, offered to sell me one on the side for only $8k. A big discount. But I don’t have 8k. I wanted my furnace fixed.I gave him a check for the service call. $116. Though he didn’t do anything but try and sell me a furnace. I paid for an estimate.Fast forward 3 weeks. I bought my own furnace inducer motor and went to install it. It took a flat head screw driver and no more than 3 minutes to uninstall the old one. I noticed at that time that it was slightly seized up. I spun it and it works now. Sent the new one back.Moral of the story is, if you want a new furnace on the side, call Meister. If you want someone to actually troubleshoot your furnace and repair it, call someone else or tinker with it for 3 minutes.I wouldn’t recommend this company. They’ve got great reviews. I was fooled by them.I’m kind of amazed at how many people probably buy the $980 repair or are sold a new unit when they just needed a screwdriver to spin the motor.Btw- it was seized because of the clogged a-coil that he wouldn’t touch.
Once again, we had outstanding technical service from Meister and from Caleb in particular. He is very friendly and knowledgeable, explains things clearly, and is thorough in his work. He is a great listener and answers all our questions, and so does Amanda back at the office, always a pleasant and knowledgeable person as well.
I’ve been lucky to have Caleb as my technician for three years. He is extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and respectful. I feel I can trust his recommendations and do not feel pressured to repair things until needed. He always goes above and beyond. So glad I found Meister!
