I went to City Lock 20 years ago with a house door lock key that wasn't working well. He held up the key, looked closely at it and said, "This is a copy that is not cut quite correctly." Then he corrected it. Since then, I only go to City Lock for any key or lock issues.
Recently, an electronic key fob for my Subaru Forester was lost. It was duplicated very quickly and works perfectly. I later found the lost key, and he reprogrammed it on the spot.

I went to City Lock to get two vehicle keys made and was scammed out of $250. City Lock made two keys that not only did not work properly but now my vehicle's windows roll down randomly, the hatch pops open, the alarm goes off and the sunroof opens without warning. The owner not only refused to give a refund even after admitting that they made a mistake and did not use the proper code when making the keys for my vehicle but they had also said they were guaranteed for one year but wanted to charge me more money to fix their mistake.
A simple refund for a mistake made by City Lock could have remedied the situation easily.
I would whole heartedly recommend to use any other company for your key or lock needs instead of using this fraudulent City Lock scamming company. Please also report any similar less reputable practices from City Lock to the Better Business Bureau to avoid anyone else being scammed out of their money.
