Reviews

What customers say

Customers describe uneven response: one got a car unlocked in about 45 minutes, while another car-lockout inquiry went 50 minutes without the promised ETA call. Payment follow-through also drew complaints: a customer says payment for a cancelled key order was not refunded, and another says the final car-unlock charge differed from its quote; a customer also says the automated system would not connect them to a person.

I was double charged for 1 key. After swiping my card, it cancelled the order because of an error, and said the money would be refunded. I tried again and the 2nd time worked. The money has not been refunded yet, $14.14 since Nov 4th

If wasn't for the traffic but they got to me at a decent time informative told me to go get a extra key made at Kroger they had a machine that makes car keys straight life savers

Cory Griffin

Called for someone who locked her keys and phone in the car. The man who answered was not only extremely rude but said someone would call me in 5/10 min to give me an eta. 50 MIN LATER NO CALL. I called back and no answer. Don’t bother with them if you are in the Huntsville area.

EDIT: Changing my review to 1 star because of shady business practices of KeyMe as a whole. Although my experience was good I would not suggest using KeyMe because they re-route calls to contractors who work for them. These contractors seem to vary wildly in skill and only get a 30% cut of your payment to KeyMe, which is why their services are so expensive. They also ask that you upload a receipt after your service (presumably to track the pricing of their contractors) but the whole practice seems very suspicious to me. I wouldn't be surprised if they sell the phone numbers or card info of their clients. You can do some reddit searches to see other people who've used KeyMe and been up-charged much more than me. I've seen some people who have been charged $300-500 which is just absurd. Very fast services. From calling them to getting my car unlocked was only about 45 minutes. My only gripe is the price quoted on their website for my car ($150 plus tax) is different than what they charged once they were done ($199 plus tax). The man explained that he (maybe a contractor for them?) also gets a cut of 30% so that may be the difference in quotes, but nonetheless I was happy to have my car unlocked so I didn't mind too much. I would use them again but I'd suggest looking at other local locksmiths too if you're not in a hurry (my car was left on so I needed a locksmith ASAP)
