It is unfortunate that it has come to this. I signed a moving contract for moving services over the summer. During the move, one of the movers, Jorge, asked about a bookcase. I was very clear in my instructions that it was to be left in the apartment, as I was not bringing it to the new location.The move was completed, and within a day or two I returned to the old location to begin cleaning and preparing the apartment for move-out. At that time, I noticed that the bookcase was not there as instructed. I immediately reached out to both the mover and the owner, Boris. Boris indicated that he would have the mover reach out to me.When Jorge contacted me, he apologized and stated that although he remembered me saying to leave the bookcase, he “wasn’t thinking,” loaded it onto the moving truck, and it was discarded at their warehouse. Both Boris and Jorge confirmed this verbally and in writing via text message (receipts included).I notified the owner on August 3rd, and it is now December 16th. I have not received payment, despite several promises that payment would be made. As a business owner, whether the mover made good on his promise or not, the owner should have addressed it and made sure I was compensated.I informed him in September that I would move forward with legal action after more than enough time had passed to resolve the issue. He read my message and never sent payment. At this point, I have sent a demand letter and still received no response.I will now be moving forward with legal action to reclaim the money I am owed. I have proof that they accidentally destroyed the item. After paying more than $1,200 for a move, I would expect that if something was lost or mishandled, the owner would have addressed it immediately. Instead, I now have to waste my time filing a claim in court for an item that both parties admitted was destroyed.If the owner would like to reach out to me to address this and send the payment that is owed, that would be great.If anyone would like to contact me before using this service please feel free to do so. This is very unfortunate and a waste of my time.
A very special thank you to Borris Tesla Bee and Marco Polo pro movers for moving all of my belongings. It took 13.5 hours and a lot of work by Carlos and his team mate. But they worked diligently and had smart techniques from years of practice. If anyone is looking to move I strongly recommend their team.
I was recommended to Marco Polo Movers by a friend and had such a great experience! Our last move (with a different company) didn’t go so well with lots of broken items — but this time was completely different. Carlos, Johnathan, and Charles were amazing! They worked quickly, were super careful with everything, and were so friendly and courteous the whole time. Everything went smoothly, and nothing was damaged. I’d definitely recommend Marco Polo Movers to anyone looking for a stress free move!
