The packing team was organized and efficient. Right on time and all went as planned. The loading team chief was not as organized and got a late start but the team did a good job with wrapping and trying to secure our furniture and items for transport. Our stuff is still in storage so I cannot offer any assessment of delivery and condition of items at our final destination but up to this point we are very satisfied with our experience
Incredibly terrible from start to finish. Very expensive, and yet my belongings were late, lost, and damaged. Poor communication; would not recommend to an enemy.
I would highly recommend Carey Moving and storage. We moved from Asheville NC to Ohio and made arrangements 4 months prior to moving. I contacted 3 local movers and 3 associated with national companies. All were highly rated and reviewed on line. The 3 local movers did not return calls timely and did not show up for the walk through for estimates. One of the National companies was not able to send a person to estimate the move and provided an online estimate ($4000 higher than the other two companies. Carey and Gasperson gave similar quotes and Carey could move in our time frame. The entire Carey team was fantastic on both ends of the move. They treated my furniture like it belonged to their family. The professionalism took the stress out of the move and I would highly recommend Carey (Allied) to anyone.
So first the positive…. The intake efforts on our move were handled professionally and timely. The quote was clear and adhered to without any problems. And the furniture arrived at our home with only a few damages to report. My primary concern comes from the fact that the backend scheduling and driver coordination seems to be completely broken. I was very clear with the sales representative as well as the staff that my move needed to arrive no later than April 5. There were many things hanging in the balance on this date, however, There was a complete lack of communication that my truck would in fact arrive at least five or six days late. Sleep in an empty house I only found out after inquiring myself and at that point I had already been sleeping on a rented bed for a week In an empty home. The small print of these contracts offers reimbursement of $100 per day for a move of our size however, that is frankly small change relative to the pain you experience of being in a home for five days without furniture. Repeated attempts at asking for the owner to contact me were ignored, and there was no satisfactory reason given as to the delay. Fact of the matter is, I’m quite confident they knew that they waited longer in order to pack on a few more moves and why not make 10 or $15,000 more per extra move and then pay me my 500 per day when late. I would’ve been fine. Had they told me, sir we need a two week lateral window in which case my expectations would’ve been set accordingly, but this was not the case. This may or may not be specific to Allied of Asheville I do not know, but be forewarned when making a move while you may get reimbursed for the first five days over the guaranteed delivery date, if you really need it there on time, you are better off renting the entire truck. So in fact, guaranteed delivery date is nothing but a muse. On a positive note, the men packing in Asheville and unpacking in Las Vegas were fantastic and did a great job.
Terrific experience with Carey Moving, out of Arden, NC! Great communications, lovely people! Everything went smoothly and when I got nervous and asked for updates, I received replies within 10 minutes! You just don't get customer service like that anymore! Bravo, to Kim, Tracy and our incredible mover, Carlos ??????
