Coleman invited me to review our recent move from Georgia to Iowa. Our family has moved many times, locally and cross country. We spent tens of thousands on this most recent move and chose Coleman, our first and last move with this company. While we expect a few things to be damaged during a big move, and aren't shocked if one or two staff people we come in contact with are grumpy, we were absolutely shocked by the lying, disrespect, unprofessional behavior, numerous huge errors and lack of accountability taken, and the lack of care taken with our possessions. The single person who treated us well and did a wonderful job is the gentleman who single-handedly packed our entire home - his name is Mike and we're grateful to him. As I sit here in the ONE piece of seating that arrived without WATER damage, trying to make arrangements for the storage room full of items the driver didn't load but Coleman says is our problem, I'm still stunned by how flat-out nasty everyone else was to us throughout our move, from our coordinator (courteous while she lied to us about her errors) to our driver (multiple errors and openly hostile, plus lying repeatedly) to the "director" who was short with us when we asked reasonable questions about next steps. Don't use this company. The salesperson will tell you your leather furniture will be wrapped a certain way - it won't be - and talk you into paying hundreds extra for certified 3rd party experts to disassemble and disconnect your appliances. That 3rd party "expert" will improperly prepare everything he touches, causing huge problems, which will not be acknowledged, let alone addressed, by Coleman. Using Coleman, in short, means you will be screwed financially, your possessions ruined, your house damaged, you will be extremely inconvenienced in numerous ways (no beds or washer/dryer for days and days, no seating furniture except for one chair, and it's been almost 2 weeks). And you will be treated as if you are ridiculous and a liar throughout the process, no matter how polite and calm you are.
Mike and his son Matt did a fabulous job packing up my house today. They both displayed the utmost professionalism and put me at ease from the get go. Mike allowed me to count the boxes and verify the total packed without rushing me to sign, which gave me peace of mind. He explained everything in detail until I was comfortable and had no further questions. I highly recommend requesting him by name. His son, Jake, is the GM for Allied. As my POC from Allied said, and I agree, “Everybody loves Mike!” Thank you, Mike!
