Your Budget Movers advertised themselves as fully licensed, but I later learned their intrastate license had expired. I was billed for more time than I believe was actually spent on the move. I am currently working with my credit card company and the North Carolina Utilities Commission to resolve the billing dispute.I was also not provided required paperwork such as a Bill of Lading or the Moving 101 brochure. I would recommend verifying licensing and reviewing billing carefully before using this company.
Edit for response:The reason for the review is due to the unbelievable rudeness from your costumer service department. Initially refusing refund and stating it was my fault for not reading the “fine print” which I did. The fine print did NOT state anything about the hidden fees. Did not state anything about having an initial consultation prior to purchase. It’s dishonest and violates FTC laws.The reason why Groupon issued me a full refund (not Groupon credit) is because this company violated the merchant terms by not including mandatory costs in your total NOR in the fine print. SEE FINE PRINT BELOW.And hostile? I called you out on your scammy behavior and poor reviews in email. Service was up to par if not better than expected especially compared to local rivals. Great attitudes all around and timely service. Would recommend to family and friends. This is my 2nd time moving with them and plan on using them again.
This was my first time using movers, and I had things neatly packed up and labeled to make things easier for them. I was referred by a friend who had used them years ago. I had to move 2 times in one weekend on short notice. I was originally told that it would be around $450 at the most for my 1-bedroom first-floor apartment move. After the 2 simple moves, it ended up being $1,412.89. I found it strange that they did not offer me a discount for using their services back-to-back and being a returning customer. The team worked at a leisurely pace, which I suspect was intentional, to charge me more. They did not even move all of my belongings, and I had to go back later to finish it myself. There are also several costly items I cannot find now. For example, my power recliner armchair cord is missing, and the team did not put the chair back together after dismantling it to move. On the first move, they were over an hour late. On the second move, they were over 3 hours late. If I had known how much it would have actually cost and their blatant disregard for people's time, I would have gone with a different company. Please be aware.
