Your Budget Movers advertised themselves as fully licensed, but I later learned their intrastate license had expired. I was billed for more time than I believe was actually spent on the move. I am currently working with my credit card company and the North Carolina Utilities Commission to resolve the billing dispute.

I was also not provided required paperwork such as a Bill of Lading or the Moving 101 brochure. I would recommend verifying licensing and reviewing billing carefully before using this company.

The reason for the review is due to the unbelievable rudeness from your costumer service department. Initially refusing refund and stating it was my fault for not reading the “fine print” which I did. The fine print did NOT state anything about the hidden fees. Did not state anything about having an initial consultation prior to purchase. It’s dishonest and violates FTC laws.
The reason why Groupon issued me a full refund (not Groupon credit) is because this company violated the merchant terms by not including mandatory costs in your total NOR in the fine print. SEE FINE PRINT BELOW.

And hostile? I called you out on your scammy behavior and poor reviews in email. Your costumer service representative was incredibly rude and refused to acknowledge the problem with the fine print. it’s completely within my legal rights to post TRUE reviews to warn other people. You’ve since threatened me with legal action via email for harassment and libel due to my review, which you obviously don’t understand the legal definition of either. This alone speaks volumes about your company.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. CHECK OUT THERE RATING ON BBB. It’s a D-. DO NOT RECOMMEND. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM
First the hidden fees are OUTRAGEOUS. You’ll end up paying almost x3 as much as you should.
Second the costumer service is incredibly horrible. They will BLAME YOU for their mistakes and are just all around incredibly rude and incompetent.
Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere.

THE GOOD REVIEWS ARE FAKE!!! THIS IS A SCAM COMPANY. DO NOT PURCHASE THER GROUPON. They have over $300 in hidden fees, they will claim they have it covered in their fine print which states “an initial consultation is required” but it does not state this needs to be done PRIOR to purchasing. They will then blame you and refuse to refund. Groupon has informed me of multiple complaints against this company and stated that violate their merchant agreements additionally not including the full total prior to purchase is against FTC laws, I plan on filing a BBB complaint.

A. Flat Rate: $499.99

Includes: Up to 2 hours of moving services, 2 Movers, a Truck, Service fee, and all necessary equipment.
Additional Time: Charged at an hourly rate if you exceed the allotted time.

Groupon: Groupon is only valid Monday-Wednesday and does not cover service Fee.
B. Hourly Rate:

Minimum Charge: 2 hours. After 2 hours, you will be billed in 30-minute increments.

2 Movers: $149.99/hour
3 Movers: $194.99/hour
4 Movers: $239.99/hour
Additional Movers: $40/hour per mover

Third Floor Apartment Fee: $75.00

2. Select Your Protection Package

Basic Value Protection (Free): This lower level of value protection is provided at no additional cost. However, it only provides minimal protection that is considerably less than the average value of household goods. Under this protection, Your Budget Movers LLC maximum liability shall be $.60 per pound for the actual weight on any lost or damaged article or articles. With this option, any claim for an article that has been damaged, destroyed, or lost in the custody of our movers will be settled based on the weight of the individual article multiplied by 60 cents. Basic Value Protection provides minimal protection, and it is possible that settlement for any claim under this level of valuation may not be satisfactory to you.
Full Value Protection ($300.00): The minimum value of the move is $4.00 times the weight of the shipment. However, you have the right to declare a greater value and pay for increased protection. If items are lost, Your Budget Movers LLC will have the option of replacing them with articles of like kind and quality or paying the replacement cost as determined by current market value. If items are damaged, Your Budget Movers LLC will have the same options and the additional option of repairing the items OR paying the repair cost. Your Budget Movers LLC holds the right to use any company of its choosing to repair any damaged items, replace with a similar item or make a cash settlement for the cost of the repair or the current market replacement value.

Furniture Assembly/Disassembly:

Full Service: $75.00 flat fee
Single Service (Assembly or Disassembly): $35.00 flat fee

Extras:

Mattress Bags: $20.00 each
Shoe Coverings: $40.00 flat rate
TV Boxes:

Service was up to par if not better than expected especially compared to local rivals. Great attitudes all around and timely service. Would recommend to family and friends. This is my 2nd time moving with them and plan on using them again.

This was my first time using movers, and I had things neatly packed up and labeled to make things easier for them. I was referred by a friend who had used them years ago. I had to move 2 times in one weekend on short notice. I was originally told that it would be around $450 at the most for my 1-bedroom first-floor apartment move. After the 2 simple moves, it ended up being $1,412.89. I found it strange that they did not offer me a discount for using their services back-to-back and being a returning customer. The team worked at a leisurely pace, which I suspect was intentional, to charge me more. They did not even move all of my belongings, and I had to go back later to finish it myself. There are also several costly items I cannot find now. For example, my power recliner armchair cord is missing, and the team did not put the chair back together after dismantling it to move. On the first move, they were over an hour late. On the second move, they were over 3 hours late. If I had known how much it would have actually cost and their blatant disregard for people's time, I would have gone with a different company. Please be aware.
