Recent reviews frequently mention punctual drivers, clear coordination, and courteous crews. Several customers noted careful handling with minimal damage and timely reimbursement when claims applied. A few reviews raised scheduling frustrations when dispatch was managed from another city, which affected timing expectations. Overall sentiment trends positive on professionalism and communication.
Overall, we were satisfied with our experience using Allied for our move from Canton, IL to St. Louis, MO and would use them again for a similar move. The driver was always helpful and on time, communication during the move was clear, and we got our goods moved with very little damage to either our goods or homes. We chose not to purchase the add-on insurance, so we were promptly reimbursed $0.60/pound for the few things that were damaged. The reasons we do not give 5 stars for the review include:1. The crew that moved us out of the old house was not the same crew that moved us into the new house. Although both crews did their jobs, the "move out" crew was better (more personable, hard working, careful, etc.) than the "move in" crew. The "move in" crew failed to re-hang a bedroom door and unpack and attach a dresser mirror. They also failed to attach a headboard to a bed frame because they couldn't find the correct bolts/nuts (they left it loose with the wrong bolts/nuts without telling us). The correct bolts for the dining room table could not be found (they were in the headboard - see above), so the driver gave our daughter-in-law money to go to the hardware store to buy new ones (which he successfully installed). The "move in" crew also placed a number of clearly labeled boxes in the wrong rooms.2. It took nearly 5 months (with numerous emails) to see the scale tickets that showed our load was slightly overweight, so we were not entitled to a weight refund. The driver had told us we were slightly underweight.
Smooth professional moving service. Rick Clayton was fantastic and helpful. Cole, the driver, was on time, professional, and very reassuring to work with. The crew at each location was polite and hard working. Highly recommend!
Our move was not even handled from East Peoria. It was done out of St. Louis, three hours away, making it difficult for our driver and off schedule for us. The move was scheduled to be delivered the next day, which would have been impossible because the movers left our home at nearly 8 pm that night. The destination was seven hours away, so we would never have made it there in time unless we didn't sleep that night and drove through the night. We were told a 2-4 day window for delivery, not the next day! But we had the date successfully changed to the following day. The truck was not big enough to hold our move so several items were not packed carefully and were damaged. Boxes labeled fragile, do not crush or this side up were not packed accordingly as seen by the loading and unloading of the truck. However in our movers' defense, they were very polite and helpful. Our driver was very professional and knew his job well. Several items did not fit in the truck so we had to move those ourselves in our pick up. Even so, we could not fit everything in so we had to leave a closet full of items behind to be picked up at a later date.
Shane & Mike were fantastic! Professional, competent, timely, courteous & considerate. In fact, the entire process, from the estimate, by Rick Clayton, another consummate & considerate professional, to Kristina Simpson, the relocation coordinator, a stellar experience across the board. As a 25-year military veteran, I’ve seen it all when it comes to movers…let me tell you, this team excelled.Thank you!!!
We recently completed a move from Peoria, Illinois to Minnesota, and from the initial assessment to the packing, loading and unloading everything was handled with care and professionalism. We actually were able to receive our load a couple days ahead of schedule which was ideal for us. I have used Allied in the past as well as others, and Allied stands above the rest.
