BuzzGuard - Mosquito & Tick Defence

We have Used another company in Ottawa for years to deal with our mosquitoes as we live on a beautiful 5 acre lot In a pine forest with a small river that runs through the back. I have to say I was nervous, switching companies, but the other company was extremely expensive. This company buzzard is unbelievable. They excel with communication, Something that can be very frustrating when you don’t know what is going on. This company is on top of everything. Their workers are polite, friendly competent, and I am very happy to report that the mosquitoes have been better controlled. Under their care than ever before, we actually walk out on the deck and leave the patio door open. I can now sit out on my front porch in the Early evening, a beautiful time of day in the summertime and I do not get assaulted by mosquitoes. I can assure you given where we live we would be bled dry otherwise!! Thank you, friends. You’re doing an amazing job.

I was going to wait until the end of the season to write this review, but hearing my colleagues complain about how bad ticks are in 2026 and not being able to relate I thought I should share this experience. I describe Buzzguards service as impossible. I live on water and as a result we HAD tons of mosquitoes to the point where if we didn't have 2-3 Thermacells going we couldn't be outside. I even installed a built in Thermacell Liv system. Those systems work, but they only cover that specific area and some mosquitoes get through. After 2 treatment I would describe the coverage as perfect. I have see three mosquitoes so far this summer. I found 10 ticks on me after being outside for a couple hours before their treatment and have yet to find one since they did their initial spray. The tick prevention creates a barrier so I know there were some living inside the border, but I suspect the mosquito spray took care of them. In the end we don't have mosquitoes or ticks and I couldn't be happier. Communication is excellent as well. We get lots of notice ahead of arrival and when they're there the tech always checks in ahead of time. It rained a couple days after one of the sprays and they messaged to advise what effect the light rain might have on the effectiveness of the spraying. It turns out there was no negative effect and coverage remains perfect. We have our 4th spray scheduled this week. We are comfortably in maintenance mode. Great service, excellent communication, and reliable service that works exactly as described. Highly recommended!

Super impressed with the ease of getting a quote, the cost of having both a tick & mosquito treatment. It was a no brainer as we’ve had 2 ticks come into the house in the last 2 weeks. Once I made the deposit the service was provided in 3 days. Looking forward to a bug free summer. Thanks Buzz Guard!

Excellent job by the Buzzguard team, in todays age where a company gets a contract and forgets about customer service, this young and dynamic BUZZGUARD team has deligently and tenaciously made sure that me as a customer is completely satisfied, keep it up!!! Oh and btw my 2 acre lot was bugs and flies free and we have had complete freedom from all the flies and bugs!!! BuzzGaurd has totally changed my summer backyard enjoyment for the better! I back on to a wooded ravine and prior to my yard being treated by BuzzGaurd I was unable to stay outside for long periods of time without being annoyed by mosquito bites. Honestly before beginning the treatment I was skeptical about the impact but…What a difference this treatment has made! I can now be outside for hours without these annoying insects ruining my fun! It is incredibly effective and I’ve already told my neighbours! I’m definitely a life-long customer! This is our first year trying mosquito control. We back onto a park with a swamp nearby, so our backyard is nearly unusable every summer. We couldn't believe that the mosquitoes were gone immediately after the first treatment! We did see a surge of mosquitoes near the end of July, and I simply messaged BuzzGuard to do an extra treatment, and they came 2 days later, and the issue was resolved. For anyone worried about how the product affects other bugs, we continue to see flies, bees, little butterflies and grasshoppers on our property, so it really does seem to only target mosquitoes. It's a bit of an investment but it's worth being able to finally enjoy our yard. The guys are also very polite, professional and attentive to our needs and we have been consistently very happy with the service we receive.

We cannot say enough good things about Buzzguard. We are so impressed with how amazing it works. We have a fairly large property and 4 younger kiddos who love to be outside. Last year we were attacked by mosquitoes and this year we were pulling ticks out of both the adults and the kids. Things needed to change so that’s where Buzzguard came in. Kris and his team have come to spray for ticks and mosquitoes and since then we have been able to work in the yard, swim in the pool and even last night we were able to have a late dinner on the deck with not a single pest in sight. We have a bearded dragon who loves to play in the grass and previously it was short lived as the mosquitos and ticks were too much but now he can play outside as much as he would like! If you have been on the fence with getting sprayed we highly recommend it for both enjoyment in the yard and peace of mind for the significant rise in ticks. Already planning our mosquito and tick defence for next year with Buzzguard!
